The Fine Melody It was a warm sunny day down at the dojo, and kenshin was doing the laundry. The sun streamed down on his soft, smiling face. "Ah I love days like this!" he smiled. Finishing the laundry, he gazed up at the sky with delight. Screaming shattered the silence. "Get away!" it was Yahiko. He was running franticaly away from a dripping wet Sano, who was now hot on his heels. "Damn it yahiko get back here!" Sano yelled. "Oro?" said kenshin hiding bahind a near by tree. "I'll get you, if it's the last thing I do I'll get you!" Sano was obviously pretty mad.

"What's this all about you guys?" wondered kenshin out loud. "That little jerk poured water all over me!" screamed Sano. "I did not, " protested Yahiko ,"at least I didn't mean to!" Kenshin smiled. He was glad to have such good friends. They continued to settle their argument by litterly beating the hell out of each other. Kenshin laughed. They were almost always at each others throats.

Just then Kaoru walked in. Kenshin imeadiatly stopped what he was doing to stare. He loved to look at her gorgeous, shimmering black hair. She was wearing her favorite yellow kimono and had her hair tied back in her favorite green bow. She looked great. Then kenshin remembered something. He reached into his pocket and drew out a small heart shaped locket. He opened it to listen to it's soft music. It was kaoru's birthday and he wanted to give her something special.

" Hi kenshin!" she shouted. He quickly slipped the locket back into his pocket. " Hi kaoru!" he replied. "Whatcha got?" she asked. Blushing, kenshin turned away. "Nothing." he said and walked away. 'Something's wrong with him.' kaoru thought with a worried look on her face. Kenshin continued walking until he reached his favorite spot to sit and think. It was a large cliff looking out onto an even larger ocean. As he stared lovingly at the ocean, a flock of birds flew by. A stray feather drifted down from the sky and rubbed against kenshin's cheek before falling to the ground.

" Strange that kaoru hasn't tried to follow me yet?" pondered kenshin. Suddenly he heard a twig snap behind him. He turned quickly to see misaos large blue eyes stareing back at him. He was shocked. "Damn it misao, what the hell do you think your doing sneaking up on me like that?" he yelped. " Sorry" she mumbled. She walked over to kenshin and sat down on the cliff's edge. She picked up a pebble and tossed it over. "Why'd you run away from kaoru earlier?" she asked. "Oro?" said kenshin "ran away? I think not! I would never run away from a girl." Misao seemed appalled by this. She got up and walked away from kenshin mumbling "You better start practicing running away from girls!"

Kenshin didn't hear her. He just kept stareing over the cliff. He took out the locket once more. Soft music filled the air. Clouds in the sky began to thicken. But sunlight managed to find it's way through the clouds and fall on kenshins face. It was warm and kenshin liked it.

A loud clap of thunder broke the silence. " I'd better get going before I get soaked." kenshin said to himself. But it was too late. Before he could return to the dojo, a heavy rain began to fall. When he arrived, a wall of wondering faces greeted him. "What?!" asked kenshin looking like a deer in the headlights. "Why are you all looking at me like that?" Kaoru came forward on behalf of the group.

" Kenshin, we want to know what you're up to. You've been acting strange for the past three days. Being all secretive, and hiding all the time, and why did you run away this morning?" all these questions were coming at him like bullets. He couldn't stand it anymore. "STOP!!" he cried. "Stop it now, i dont like to be interrogated when i arrive home after a long day!"
