    Hiei is a cold, closed off, ruthless, spiteful individual that seems to be a loner.  He has good reason to be this way.  In the Spirit world or Makai, it is not necessary for an ice demon to have sex to have children.  They can just clone themselves, but Hiei's mother, Hina, had fallen in love with an unknown fire demon.  She and the unknown fire demon had two off springs.  Hiei and his twin sister, Yukina.  Being a fire demon, Hiei had to be thrown off of the floating island that the ice demons lived on.  Some how surviving the fall, Hiei was adopted into a clan of traveling gypsies.  After a while he left them to be on his own.  He was told about his twin sister, and that she had left to the Human world or Ningenkai.  Having a third eye or jagan implanted into his head (very painful process, so I have been told) he went to Ningenkai to find his sister.  The man that had implanted Hiei's jagan made Hiei promise that he would not tell his sister that he is her sister.
    After a while Hiei had found Kurama, a silver fox demon (the lowest form of the fox demon).  Kurama seems to be Hiei's only friend because Hiei thinks that the rest of the Yu Yu Hakusho group are dumb and inferior.  Now because of this it has been rumored, ONLY RUMORED, that they are lovers.  Who ever believes in things like that then go on ahead and believe it, but personally I don't see it.
