THE NAKAGO SHRINE

Why Nakago? I tell you, even if I had an answer, I would still put up a shrine to the coolest Fushigi Yuugi character of all (in other words, I don't have an answer for that particular question; it's one I'm trying to figure out myself; I could answer why I'm not putting up a shrine to the slightly dorky Tamahome a lot easier than I can answer why a shrine to Nakago).

He's ruthless, manipulative, unpredictable, and entirely romantic.

I see you're skeptical about Nakago being entirely romantic; s'okay. I can't expect everyone to comprehend his greatness immediately. :) However, the way he carries Soi after she dies is definitely romantic. While I admit to being slightly put-out that he didn't/wouldn't/ didn't-think-of-it-until-it-was-too-late tell Soi that he loved her, I still think he's awesome.

Besides, he's so adorable, how can one resist? I certainly couldn't, and wouldn't, if given the choice. Nakago was orphaned at a young age, probably sexually initiated some time after that, and went on to make the world a better place as he saw it.
