A twist in the tale.7

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, the main character's name is
Guo Guang Ming which is the Chinese pronunciation of the characters of
his name. The last two words are actually saying light/bright two
different times. This is translated into Japanese as Kaku-Komei and thus
the name. I will always refer to him as Guo when using either the first
or third person perspective but the characters out of necessity (and
depending on how they know him,) will usually refer to him with the
translated name.

(Somewhere out there.)
An uniformed person knelt before a throne. A throne made of black
onyx and sculpted in the mural of featureless faces, all screaming in
pain and agony. There an evil woman sat, her pale face covered with
smooth perfect skin, her ears, elongated to points like the story of
elves but her sharp canine teeth pointing the story another direction,
towards the myth of the nosferatu, Vampires. Beautiful yet deadly she
sits, like a poisonous snake above the hapless general.
"Calcite. Your foul proof experiment failed. Would you like to
explain to me how this happened?"
"It was not my doing my Queen. An abnormality entered the
equation. Please, let me show you." he said, a bead of nervous sweat
itching it's way down his cheek.
"Very well. Let it not be said I am not fair. Explain yourself."
"Thank you my queen." he said rising to his feet. Swinging his
hand behind him, a whirlwind of blackness rose forth. motes of light
rose from within the whirlwind, forming into a picture for all to see.

**
A single person in a pair of stained clothes flew forwards,
slashing a tray through the neck of a liquid yoma. He just stood there,
startlement evident on his face as the head popped back onto the yoma,
joining together to the severed neck. The yoma threw a backhand,
swatting the person over a counter. It stepped back as bottles fell onto
the hapless human, waiting for the person to rise. And rise up the human
did, a red welt oh his face as he looked to the yoma.
The yoma spread his arms above him, ready to attack when something
strange happened, the human attacked first. Flying forwards, the human's
form literally blurred as what seemed to be his fists flew in a hundred
punches, burrowing right through the yoma. He landed on the opposite
side of the Yoma and leapt o the side as the yoma tried to gather itself
together.
A second surprise was in store as the person cupped his hands to
his side. Seeming to gather his will, he pushed his hands forwards,
splattering the yoma through a door. Leaping in after the yoma, he
thrust his right hand into the glob like mess. There the image faded,
nothing else to be seen.

**
"So, that is the person who defeated your underling Calcite. It
seems that humans are not all as weak as we were first lead to believe.
Perhaps you have a solution for your little problem, or is that too
difficult for you to handle?"
"No your majesty. I will solve this problem myself. We have yet
to see how a human fares against a yoma in a real fight. Especially one
that is not a third class underling."
"Perhaps you are going to pit him against a second class yoma? I
don't see what good that will do." came the mocking response from the
side.
	"Nephrite." Calcite. spat in disgust.
"Greetings my queen." the long hared general said, moving into
the light besides Calcite. "I provided the viewing pleasure and would
like permission to set a tracker so everyone can enjoy the distraction
this human will provide."
"Hmm. A strange request but granted only if the tracker is used
for this mission alone."
"Thank you my queen." Nephrite said, giving a short bow before
disappearing into the darkness behind.
"Now Calcite. do you have a plan for this individual?"
"Yes my queen. Analyzing the human's fighting powers was easy. He
counts on his superior speed compared to normal humans to overpower the
aqueous and slower moving Caffeine, but I see no problem for someone who
has the benefit of speed and power on his side. Wulfenite.

(Hakawa shrine)
Three teenage girls and a black cat sit before a bonfire. A single
person lies before them, comatose for all to see. The three girls
consist of a raven hair girl in priestess robes, a blond with the
strangest hairdo, that of two long ponytails with two buns done on
either side of her head, and a single girl with short blue hair hunched
over a small computer.
"So, could he be a sailor sensei?" the blond asked.
"No according to the computer, this symbol is not from within the
silver millenium. However, the closest thing that could account for it
is the fact there never was a sensei for earth."
"But there never was a male sensei in the first place. . were
there?" Rei added in disbelief.
"According to my database, all the sensei were and should still
be female."
"So what's the story on him?" Rei nearly shouted in frustration.
"I have no idea." Amy said as the others virtually facefaulted.
"Now now girls, you can't expect Amy to have all the answers."
Luna stated as the girls recovered.
"But Luna! Amy always comes up with the answer." Usagi cut in.
"I know Usagi, but you really have to remember, these are unusual
circumstances to say the least." Luna continued as the Usagi and Rei
looked at the guy sleeping there in the light of the fire. Seeing that
he still haven't moved, they looked back to Amy, and the computer to
discuss other possibilities.

**

The sounds of talking woke me from my slumber. A single voice I
remembered from before roused me from the comforts of sleep. It sounded
sharp and demanding, yet having the melodious sound that told of singing
experience. A second voice of calm rationality came in, giving facts in
soft gentile tones. A person that was perhaps a romantic at heart though
seemed timid in deed. A third voice was heard, one that seemed from a
voice box built too small to be anything else than a child, yet spoke
with the mannerisms of a adult. A last voice completed the group.
Dragging me from the last hope of sleep. That of a whiney person who had
the deep dulcet undertones of an adult.. if only she would use it. I
stayed still enjoying the last vestiges of sleep, and then cracked my
eyes open and looked into the world around.
It was a single room made of wood and brick, done in the old style
of Japanese temples. A blazing fire was set in the center of the room.
Burning merrily away, and heating the already warm room just a little
more. Looking down towards my feet, I saw the hair of what appeared to
be three girls. Short blue hair on one, two yellow buns for another and
what seemed to be long black hair for the third. *wait a minute, four
voices?* without further ado, I sat straight up. Startling the girls and
more importantly catching a black cat in mid speech.

**

"It is a possibility that he is a sailor sensei, but the problem
is explaining the fact that the heals rather quickly in this form. I
mean he can't be in his sensei form all the time can he?"
"That's a valid assumption Amy but have any of you..." Luna
trailed off as the person sat up and looked at her in astonishment.
"err. . . Meow?"
*blink* *blink* "err. nice try but I think cat's are definitely
not supposed to talk." he said stretching and eliciting a few pops from
various joints. "What time is it?"
"err it's about two?" the blue hair girl said, as he opened his
eyes. For a moment their eyes met and electricity passed through the
room.

**

Perhaps I was delusional or perhaps I was still out of it, but
trust me, after spending a week with the Tendos, I have seen weirder
things than talking cats. In fact, The weirdest thing in my mind is the
fact that a 200 pound man can turn into a 400 pound panda and the fact
that a 120 pound girl can turn into a 20+ pound cat. Of course, that is
not to forget the fact that I saw a 100- pound girl riding a pig the
size of a small car, the fact that that ghosts exist, or that I got to
meet one. After a week of those things, a talking cat seemed normal
indeed. In any case, I wasn't talking about the cat. When I looked into
those deep blue eyes of hers, my heart sang for release and through a
thought I made my peace.

The tint of hair the soft blue eyes,
a spring of hope or the illusion of lies,
Can I go when time passes me by?

A single dream In the night,
is it a vision to give me sight?
or a hope to make things right?

A single wish I hope to make,
A single heart for you to take.
to hold up high or throw in a lake.

Answer me now my blue haired dear,
without an answer, I do fear,
even more than the deadly spear.

Silence echoed through the room, the silence deafening to my ears
as I realized one thing. Not a sound did I make yet something seemed to
have happened. The blue hair girl was blushing a scarlet hue while the
others, including the cat were looking at me in astonishment.
"Err. is something wrong?" I said, wondering if my i had stared
too hard or too long, or perhaps something else went wrong.
That snapped the out of their trance. and the blue haired girl
blushed even deeper, burrowing her face in her hands while a small smile
etched her lips. The other two girls suddenly loomed over me, their eyes
wide and questioning. "What was that?" they said in unison.
"Err. .what?" I questioned a little dubious.
"That poem we all heard." the blond demanded
"WHAT poem? I didn't say anything!"
"We know but we definitely head a poem about dreams and blue
hair. Kaku Komei! Confess." Rei shouted at me
"Dream and blue hair?" I said, my curiosity perked. "you heard
that?"
The blond suddenly got a questioning look on her face. "err why
was it in english? I wonder how I understood a word of english."
I just looked at her in surprise and growing excitement. "You
heard that?"
"YES!" they both shouted back at me "So how did you do it?" the
black haired one asked
A goofy grin crossed my face. "I have no idea." I said laughing
out loud. "Telepathy! I had never thought it was possible. but It
happened today!" I cried, flopping onto my back as I laughed in
merriment.
"The two girls and the cat before me looked at me in incredulity
before looking back at each other. Big sweat-drops would be rolling down
their faces if it was possible.

***************************

(megaverse)
A single person stood in a dark room, the walls black and
indistinct in the distance as he considered the crystal before him.
turning around, we see his features, the sharp face from earlier, the
grey uniform with the golden trimmings. The face that said, Calcite.
"Wulfenite! I summon you!" he called, a black shape formed on
the floor before him, the shape vaguely humanoid, but hunched over, arms
and legs that ended in claws, the extra joint in the leg, the sharp
teeth and protruding snout. The general picture, that of a classical
werewolf if werewolves had red eyes, wore abbreviated sweatshirts and
thigh length jeans.
"Yes? Mas-ter?" he said, spitting out each syllable
individually.
"I have an assignment for you."
	"Thanks you mas-ter. Who?"

****************************

(Back at the shrine)
Everyone seems a little more settled around the fire, Amy sat
before the blindfolded Guo, (Kaku, Komei) placing five playing cards
upside down on the floor before her. the others (namely Usagi, Rei and
Luna,) just sat and watched
"ok, Kaku. Here's a little game we'll play. First, i put your
hand on a card, and you name it. Then we'll go on to the next card and
the rest Ok??"
"Sure. Can we get on with this already?" he asked, irritation
evident on his face.
"Ok.." Ami said as she took hold of his finger and guided it to
the card on her far right.
"ten of spades." second card, "two of hearts," center "Queen
of diamonds" forth "five of clubs" last, "Ace of spades"
"ok." she aaid flipping the cards over, "first card was. two of
hearts, miss. Second card, Queen of diamonds? five of clubs, ace of
spades" and flipping over the last one.. "joker?" Amy looked a little
unsettled before looking to the pack besides her. Flipping over the top
card, it was a Ace of hearts, looking at the bottom card. . it was the
ten of spades.
"So how did I do?" he said, idly scratching his head.
	"I have no idea."

**

"Ok, the next test is a little more difficult. We're going to see
your ability to predict the future.
"Ok. err. do you think I can take the blindfold off now?"
	"NO!"
"oh.." Dammit! Now I'm feeling a little warm again what's with
that fire anyway? Oh yes, they found out I needed to be able to see to
send a telepathic message. *sigh* and I was getting so much better at
controlling who received the messages too..
"I pick up the cards with my hand, you see if you can tell the
sequence." she said, shuffling the cards.
"Ok. ." I said, as I waited. a second later, she stopped, and
handed it to me?
	"Cut the deck"
"oh.." I said as I did a dealer cut, (cut it with one hand.) and
passed it back
"..... we'll start!" she said, placing her hand on the first
card.
"Ok. six of diamonds. two of clubs, three of . . . "

**

"So Amy, what's the results?" I asked after half an hour of
similar tests.
"Err, you definitely have powers of precognition, about
75%success rate. clairvoyance since you seem to know how to use things
as soon as you touch them, and even though you don't consciously use it,
powers of telepathic reception."
"Huh?" I asked, suddenly feeling a little warm. Stupid thing is,
the feeling just kept coming and going during the course of the
experiment.
"There, you're doing it again." she said.
	"Doing what?" I inquired.
"Blushing as soon as Amy blushed." Came an answer from the
spectators, their laughter echoed through the room.
"Oh.." I thought as the feeling intensified. "Does this mean
Amy is blushing as red as a beet now?" renewed gales of laughter echoed
through the room as someone touched her forehead to the floor, probably
hiding her face in her hands.

Gosh, I thought that I had a little power with levitation, short
range teleportation and telekinesis. But it seems like I have more
powers than that. I just wish I could actively use some of them. Hmm. A
nice joke just entered my mind. it also might stop me from 'receiving'
that annoying blush. Removing my blindfold I looked at them and crossed
my legs a little tighter. Closing my eyes, I assumed the lotus position.
and assumed the look of concentration.
"Those are not the least of my powers. perhaps you would like to
watch?" I said, resisting the urge to laugh along with them. presently,
the quieted down. I just held that form for a minute, letting my mind
and body relax, giving them the impression of deep concentration.
"Do you think he'll do anything soon" Usagi asked someone.
"Quiet you idiot. That's called meditation!"
"Rei, stop being mean to me"
"Come on you guys, let's just watch this, this is no time to
fight."
"But Rei was mean to me"
"It's not like you didn't deserve it." Rei replied, the
situation probably would have degenerated from there if someone else had
not interjected something.
"Err girls. I think you should take a look at this." Luna wisely
cut in.
"What?" Usagi and Rei practically shouted at her.
"Look at him and you'll see." indeed, I was about two inches off
the mat and going a little higher every few seconds.
Ooos and ahs came from the two girls while sounds of typing came
from the direction of Amy. Slowly, I added a new twist to the idea,
turning very slowly at first and then increasing in speed until I went
one entire round. Then slowing down, I came to a stop facing the same
direction I started. Bringing my hands up, I just crossed them before my
chest A flash of light, and I disappeared.
Within the room, cries of startlement and astonishment sounded as
lay down on the porch just outside. I just enjoyed the sun shining on my
face as they did they turned the room upside down searching for me.
Perhaps I'll tell them I'm just outside in a while. Nah.

***************************

(in the park,)
A group of children happily chased a ball over the muddy ground, a
single little girl in a kimono chased after the ball like all the other
kids. Suddenly looking upwards, a simple grin crossed her face as she
broke off and started walking back towards the police box.
"Hey! Don't go! we still haven't finished the game yet!" called
a little kid from the field. The Little girl looked back towards the
kids and back at the police box. ..
'It could wait.' she thought as she rejoined the soccer game.
"Interception!" she cried as she slid across the grass

(A single stream of black)
(is that your best attack?)
(is so, then taste the furry of fire back.)

The demon continued typing on his screen. as a annoying buzz rang
to the side. looking at the thing in irritation, he noticed that it was
the playback button. "Ahh. finally." he said pressing the button.
The activities from the last chapter since Guo entered the Coffee
shop played back on the screen. The fight with the yoma and the sailor
scout's late arrival. Even the sailor scouts carrying off the sleeping
Guo to a temple. The scrying, the analysis, and taking a sample of his
hair. Then after all that, the waking of Guo. *BZZZZZT* went the screen
as Guo looked into the blue hair girl's eyes. everyone on the screen
looked shocked and the demon was not the least impressed.
"Finally, there is some motivation for his dominant powers to
emerge. About time too." he snorted as he typed a few choice commands
into the computer, starting the spiritual and mana analysis of the boy.
On the screen, Guo had a couple of psychic tests, and finally it was
done. An evident joke about both the tester and the tested blushing at
the same time, and another that he played on all within the room.
Levitating, a ki flash, and a short teleport outside. Simple stuff
really with the powers he had already possessed. "Hmm. so what's
allowing me to see all this if he's still on temple grounds? he thought
as the computer came up with the analysis.

[Spiritual interference still evident. . . next command]

Ok so that's it. [Where is the visual ability coming from?]

[Remote tracking spell from outside source allows us to gain
retained images of subject.]

ahh. two can play at that game. [Identify holder of spell and
relevant information]

[processing. processing. processing. . Identified. Spellcaster
Nephrite. general of Beryls armies of the sub dimension negaverse. Cast
on subject wulfenite. Standard werewolf creature, warrior of negavrese .
. More info?]

"Ok, that's settled." he said looking over to the sleeping imp.
"I wonder if I should bother to wake her? hmm. . . nah."

****************************

(temple.)
A single flash of light was all the warning I got before a set of
claws tore into the wood under me showering splinters as the porch caved
in under the force. I was already gone by that time, dodging onto the
stone courtyard. Hmm. this is the first time I've seen a werewolf,
especially one who fights on holy ground. A smile lit my face as I
picked out a splinter from my cheek. Time to try out my new powers.
"Good afternoon my dear sir, are you here to make an offering to
the temple? Or perhaps an excercism? I'm not the priest but I could
direct you to her." I said, dodging his sudden charge. 'hmm.
Precognition worked fine or was that just reflexes?'
"Oh perhaps you would like to tell me about your problem." I
said running the opposite direction and dodging his swipes, my back
turned to him. 'Ok. It was precognition. That would explain allot. Now
clairvoyance.' I thought as the girls rushed out of the room. "Hey
Rei! Wand, Charms, in the center of the courtyard!" I called as I
ducked yet another few swipes at my head. Leaping back, I got out of
range as he snapped the air before me. I had to duck yet again as his
clawed hand flew overhead. Coming back up with an uppercut, I barely
fazed him. Blood flowed from the tongue as he howled in renewed anger.
Seeing her take out the tings and tow them in the air, I lured him
to the corner of the courtyard and leaped over his swing, kicking him in
the eyes as I flew over. He roared in anger, staggering backwards as I
landed and rolled, coming up with the items I requested. 'Now for
clairvoyance'

"Spirits of the heavens above, gods who know the land."
"Help me freeze this creature that I may free the man."

With that, I tossed the charms into the air, and leapt away,
feeling the breeze of his claws as it flashed just inches from my
throat. Surprisingly, the charms stuck to him, as he passed through them
and locked him in position. Frozen for all but for those baleful eyes.
'Hey clairvoyance worked! Second phrase.'

I stood still and knelt with one knee to the ground. The wand
before me, my head bowed down as I focused, words came to my mouth.

"Spirits of the heaven and earth, listen a little, listen first.
a single man may do no wrong, yet we may never sing his song.
I say to you I know not true but I must now implore you.
Free this man from his curse, from upbringing of the worst,
he did not choose to be born bad but what was fate that is sad.
A single person should have his choice and speak with his true voice.
I implore you for a second chance let this man sing and let him dance.
Now your soul let it come ahead, and answer the gods and the choice will
be made.
NOWWWWW!" I shouted, swinging the paper whip through the air.

Light shone forth from the ground around the yoma, a single circle
of crystal clarity. Rock posts sprung forth from the ground around him
as soft chanting could be heard coming from the ground. A small wind
rose around me as I stood still, awaiting the powers to be complete.
Dried leaves from the underbrush around the temple flew into the
courtyard, forming a circle around the circle. The chanting increased as
I realized something. There was no one single language. It was a
symphony of different languages and a mix of different religions. hmm..
Perhaps I shouldn't have said 'gods who know the land.'

*dear god our heavenly father, give us our.* "Oh;mi tuo fo,"[god of
the sky we revere you] {Allah we pledge ourselves}ect ect.

The chanting rose to a crescendo and suddenly stopped as the
circle flared with blinding white light. A pile of clothes sat within
the circle. The leaves and the stone posts were gone. Nothing was
different within the courtyard than the set of clothes lying in the
center of it.
Scratching my head, I looked around. Moving to the clothes, I
squatted down to pick it up when something leapt out, knocking me off my
feet and onto my back, I hit my head against the ground and everything
went hazy. My last thought was that of a furry ball of sharp teeth and
smelly breath.
"KOMEI!" Usagi, Rei and Ami cried as they raced forwards.

****************************

(in a park,)
The little girl looked up at the sky and the movement of the
remaining clouds and shivered. The earth lords were summoned and they
did their work. Now she must go do hers. Looking back at the field, she
watched the ball come towards her and she leaped. Heading it back in the
other direction. .... perhaps after this game.

***************************

(the road to hell is paved with good intentions.)
"*chuckle,* guffaw* heh. haha.haaha... Looks like our little
subject finally accessed his clairvoyance skills. And the gods of earth
were summoned up and destroyed all spells and machinations. *chortle*. I
just wonder what would have happened if he had gotten his hands on a
book of necromancy. HA hahahahahha *bonk*"
"Keep it down over there. Can't an Imp get some sleep around
here?" the imp said lying down again as the demon shook the pebble from
his hair. The demon looked at the Imp and decided against saying more.
That would be her punishment for that.

***************************

(negaverse)
The room filled with murmurs, that of spirituality and the powers
of the gods. The murmurs could bring forth dissent and queen Berryl
could have none of that. "Enough! Calcite you have not chosen your
enemy wisely for he shows the favor of his gods. Perhaps you would like
to reiterate the discussion and tell us why we should find fault with a
powerful avatar?"
"My Queen. the sailor scouts were in a sense avatar of their
respective planets. In fact, they were imbued with their planet's powers
and made use of them as it was. We have quite possibly found the first
person who has been chosen by this planet and is perhaps the scout for
earth."
"Do not listen to his ramblings my queen. Perhaps yes, he might
be an avatar for earth but he is also a man. Additionally, he used
clerical or white magic rather than black to cast his spells. It is most
likely he is the equivalent of our dark sorcerers rather than anything
else."
"So you believe we have found and been defeated by a human mage
Jadeite?"
"A logical explanation and as we all know, the sailor scouts have
always been female, so unless the rules have changed, it is perhaps the
only explanation."
"You present your case well Jadeite. There was no defeat today.
Calcite, you underestimated your opponent and lost your pet warrior.
Calcite you are to continue collecting energy for the negaverse. If you
should fail me, the consequences will be severe."
"Yes your majesty" he said, disappearing from the throne room.
A person stepped forwards, an ebony statue, clothed in garments of
black and red. No features adorned his face for he was shadow in it's
purest form. "Perhaps my queen, it would be best to give him a false
trail to follow. Something like what we did with Sailor V something that
will bring him away from the main fight, a trail of deceit to follow."
"Your words have merit, but would you want to handle someone like
him? He is powerful enough to back up his fists with the powers of
magic. You couldn't send your underlings to fight him Ebonite he is not
worth the risk. However, should he ever join forces with the accursed
Sailor scouts then we shall see."

***************************

(shrine)
A fuzzy blackness was all that I saw. Dark shapes cast against the
gloom. The stark relief of those in the room. Suddenly one upped and
took flight, in a brilliant flash of light. Perhaps that means something
or perhaps not for searching for that shape came to naught. A single
shadow did I see perched under a candy wing, the shadow of someone on a
swing, under the roof of white and red, I did go so afraid. Perhaps I
would know what I did see but perhaps it wouldn't really be me. On that
swing of white and red a single creature sat instead. a simple set of
red and brown. Upon it's countenance I did frown. It upped and walked
towards my side in his little and slow stride. Looking down on the red,
panda, I did say instead.
"What do you want of me my friend?"
"Your heart and soul are yours"
"Then what do you wish of me my friend?"
"Your body and your form are yours"
"Then what do you wish to share my friend"
"The form of the curse is ours."
"What do you mean my friend my friend?"
	"Awake and know the truth."
What I knew in truth in sooth, was my mind was waking. a dream had
been in the making. waving goodbye to the candy roof, I waited and
closed my eyes and chose to open them again.
*SPLASH* someone dumped a bucket of icy cold water onto me and
what did I expect to happen to me? Actually I don't know, I have yet to
see that show. In any case I looked around on faces that seemed
astounded.
"Err, yes?" I said as Usagi and the others scrambled away, Hey!
what's wrong?" I shouted, resisting an urge to twitch my ears. 'huh
where did that come from?' as I noticed that, I noticed a few
differences in how I felt. Or more specifically, the way my body felt.
First of all, I never though my voice was that high. Second is there
were red bangs of wet hair covering my eyes. Thirdly, well, I never
though my ears were supposed to feel so long. Finally, well my clothes
felt a little loose.
I ran my hands through my hair, pushing it back and noticed a few
other differences. One was that I had some sort of light red down on my
skin. The second was that I had ears near the top of my head. Long ears
that stuck out to the side and not those elf type ears but more like a
dog's or . . . a raccoon's. "So that's the curse." I thought as three
very underdressed teenagers slammed open the door.
"Stop you evil creature. We haven't know him for long but... Hey
are you listening to me?"
*Bua hehehehheha hahah hah Gah ha HaHAHAHAhaha...* Leotards with
bows and tiny skirts? I had taken one look at them and started laughing.
They didn't seem to find it so funny and continued their speech as I
pounded the floor in my mirth.
	"HEY Listen to us here!"
"HaHahaha.....Sailor costumes HAhahha .." I covered my eyes and
tried to control my mirth. Succeeding marginally when something small
and furry leaped into me knocking me over and slobbering over my face. I
leaped back in startlement, pasting myself on the far wall as I
remembered what put me down in the first place.
*Arf Arf.* A wolf pup? I thought as the little thing ran after me
and started jumping up and down, trying to gain my attention.
*Blink Blink* "You knocked me out you know." I said in all
seriousness to the puppy. I squatted down as he sat down confusion on
his face. *sigh* "Guess we have to give you a name." I said as I
looked to the girls before me. Hmm. long jet black hair, Buns on the
head and the short blue hair of. . . Amy?
"Err guys you can stop posturing now and get out of those
costumes. I'm not going to hurt you." I said petting the wolf pup.
"Who are you?" the black hair one... Rei demanded.
"Yah who are you" the golden haired one... Usagi? copied.
"I'm Komei. . ." I said looking down at myself. "Hmm. never
thought I look like this when I'm hit with cold water. I figured a little
smaller and paws. Why?" I said looking up at them.
"Is that really you? ok then answer this question." Usagi one
said. "Where are you from."
"I haven't told you that yet so you don't know."
"err Rei, could you help me out here?"
"Ok then, how do you change?" Rei demanded.
"I have a curse. cold water puts me into my cursed form while hot
water returns me to normal. hmm.." 'another technique that Mr tendo
told me I could do was a Ki flare. It should theoretically heat up the
water and change myself back... nah not now.
"... Do you really expect us to believe that?"
"Hey, splash me with hot water and we can prove it. or if you
want. Visit a place called Jusenkio in china. Jump into one of the
cursed springs there and prove it to yourself."
"I think he's right. we really don't stand to loose anything if
we were to splash him with hot water." Amy said to the other girls.
"Remember R.." Quick glance at me "Sailor Mars, you said something
about a water based curse a little while back."
"Wait a minute! I've an idea!. I'll be back." Usagi cried
running out of the room. Half a minute later she was back with a
steaming pail of hot water. "Here!" *splash*
What did I do? I jumped up into the rafters with the puppy in my
hands. "HEY! Hot water not boiling!" I cried as the puppy barked at
her.
"Grrr. So who's going to clean this mess up?" Rei called as
Usagi went oops.
"...." I just listened to them as they started arguing. Amy
tried to step in between them but it wasn't getting anywhere fast. I
just leaped down and concentrated. Summoning the rapidly cooling water
from the floor and into the air, I splashed a little of it into my face
to trigger the transformation.
Turning around I looked at them as they still argued. The only one
looking at me seemed to be the cat. I just bowed my head down and
wondered how petty they could get. With a shrug I just placed the dog on
the floor and walked away. I could always come back another time.
As I opened the door, there was an extra bit of nervousness in the
room as the overly friendly dog greeted the cat. *Arf Arf* "err. nice
doggy. err stay away now..."

As I exited the temple, the weather took a turn for the worse. The
clouds that had been absent for the last afternoon started returning. I
looked upwards and figured there were about 20 minutes before It started
raining in earnest. As I came to the bottom of the steps, I noticed a
little girl carrying a leaf running desperately towards me. At the same
time I noticed a few angry dogs chasing her. As she ran past, I bent
down and scooped her up while erecting a barrier before me. The dogs
slammed into the flexible barrier and bounced backwards the way hey came
snarling in frustration and distrust.
Hmm. Let me do something about that. . . the girl clutched my
right shoulder, sobbing away. I just looked at the dogs and smiled
through thin lips. Cupping my left hand, I released my ki into an aura
around me. The dogs must have felt it since they started backing away.
Personally, I just helped them make the decision to run by focusing a
little sphere of power in my hand and shooting it into the ground before
me. a small poof of power and a small crater in the ground. They ran
and never looked back
"Hey, are you all right?" I asked the little girl.
"Sniff, sniff. I was scared. sniff.." she said clutching to my
arm. *AURG* she shouted, squeezing my arm as something thumped into my
butt.
*ow...* I said as I turned around.. and saw the puppy behind me.
*arf arf*
"*sigh* Don't worry if anything's his fault, it's being too
friendly." I said as the wolf pup sat down on his haunches and looked
at me expectantly. Squatting down, I reached out my left hand and petted
him. Then changed my petting into scratching his ears which he enjoyed
immensely, rolling under my hand to let me scratch the more hard to
reach places.
The little girl slowly looked at the puppy and back at me. Then
slowly getting down, she reached out her hand. slowly,, slowly, and
touched the wolf, suddenly retracting her hand in fear. But the wolf pup
just ignored her, preferring to look at me and wonder why the scratching
stopped.
In any case, the little girl reached out her hand again and pet
him as I watched. He just ignored her as she started petting him a
little harder. and a little harder. and... I stopped her. and looked at
her. "You know, they aren't toys. You have to be gentle with them you
shouldn't hit them ok?" I said as I put her hand back. "Try
scratching him a little. He likes that." I said as she looked at me in
wonder. Then turning back to the pup, she started gently scratching him
gaining his attention.
Smiling I, sat down on the steps and just watched them for a
second before something occurred to me. "Hey, where are your parents?"
she looked at me and then looked down, a little bit of nervousness on
her face.
"Well, I was thinking, I can't take care of him and I just
wondered if you might want him." she looked up at me her eyes bright
and shining. "Of course, you would have to ask your parents first and
promise to take good care of him." she stood up and looked thoughtful..
then pointed her finger at me.
"Wait here." she said before turning away and started flying
into the sky.
I looked up at the disappearing figure, looked down to the puppy
and back up again then wondered out loud. "How in the world do these
things keep happen to me?"
"Perhaps it's because you're strange and strange things happen to
you." came a laughing answer from behind. Turning, I saw Amy as she
stood above me, an umbrella in her hand. I just smiled as she came down
and sat beside me to wait.

Any comments and criticisms are welcome. I will be using the e-
mail X94Quek1@wmich.edu until the end of winter. Please contact me
there. ps. for the next few episodes. I will be trying for a more
thoughtful story. In this one, I freed my creative skills for the last
part but needed to have a reason to tie up a few loose ends in the
middle so forgive me. (didn't want megaverse creeps on my tail all the
time.).
