Letter

Yesterday I received a letter
Written on soft scented stationery,
Crisp to the touch, candy to the eyes,
The words ran together, mixing in my mind.
My hands felt the edges, worn through with touch.
Each inked word, an emblem engraved.
Taking the letter, walked the sandy shores of
The beach, stepped out into clouds of spray
And lay there until the blueness disappeared.
The letter still clutched in my hand,
Words blotted out, memorized unparalleled forever.
I rose out of the ocean and broke the twigs
Off a young sapling I'd raised for months.
The sapling I had cared for months
Now drifted on the ground and blew away.

No Regrets

Howling toward the essence of supernatural
a streak of lightning tears the sky
a bright illuminating scepter
turns round a malevolent eye
to the gleaming bronze sweet nectar
of one solitary drop of abyss
a wrong turn in a forked road
wound me in a desolate place
Left behind with two choices
should I grasp the hand of fate?
time will heal but I'll never forget
time will pass but maybe I'll regret
Confusion hovers cloud-like
Mist sprays over my tired eyes
Breathing in joie de vivre
Take the plunge and
hope that I'll never regret

Imperfect

I'm the vampire who loves sunrises
The fish out of water
Maverick from the crowd
Lone star in the midst of angels
Beacon on a murky dark night
The missing puzzle piece
Impurity in a tapestry
Diluted mixture of gold alloy
Misshapen footprint in newly shed snow
The only one smiling on a rainy day
The eye of a storm
Patch of red in green-filled earth
I stumble while others fly
I soar while others crawl
The loud wind on a still night
Whisper in a pandemonium of cacophony
Nocturnal animal in broad daylight
Surprise in dull moments
Violin that laments in major
Goose that messes up V-formations
A misspelled word in a newly printed book
Non-smoker in the smoking section
The jokers in a deck of fifty-two cards
You ask if I'm perfect
Of course, imperfect
