A lonely princess sits in her glass tower
Flowing her calls to her prince
He flies farther and farther way
With each passing timbre of time
She looks far, watching for her
Swan, her angel
Never to touch again.
A flighty caress
A shoft whispered kiss
"I love you, always and forever..."
lost in the woods, devoured by the wolves
Half a void, an empty space
A frozen tear, on her face
She lies a massed heap,
A wreak of fear
To touch that crystal
Make love appear.
The prince bereft, moaned and sighed
And found another bride.
He put the princess behind.
All put aside.
But she could not
Would not die.
She was alive in her mind's eye
All aesthetic wonders meet
The prince held no name or face
A shadow of distant memories
Lay in the pupil of her eyes
As she climbed out of the damp cold snow
The wolves watched her leave.
Alone in the darkness
On Christmas Eve she waits
SHe hugs herself in the dark
Emptiness like a pill swallowed
Waiting for her prince, who never comes
Has forgotten their world ever existed.
