Episode 1: The Arrival of Raditz
Raditz travels to earth in search of his younger brother Goku. As a baby, Goku was programmed to destroy all life on Earth, obviously, he had not done so due to a blow on his head at a young age. While searching for Goku, Raditz mistakes Piccolo for Goku. In a short battle, Piccolo fires a fireball at him. After the smoke rose, Raditz stood there laughing at him. Later, Raditz finds his little brother on Kame Island with Master Roshi, and Krillin. At the end of the conversation between the two siblings, Raditz orders Goku to kill 100 humans by the next morning. When Goku refuses, Raditz kidnaps Gohan, Goku’s first son.

Episode 2: The World’s Strongest Team
Piccolo comes to Kame Island after Raditz. He and Goku team up to destroy Raditz. Piccolo wants to gain global domination and Goku wants his son back. When confronting Raditz, the two use every fighting strategy to destroy him. But all seems to fall.

Episode 3: Gohan’s Hidden Powers
Raditz injures Goku badly. Watching his father crash to the ground, Gohan powers up in rage and decimates the Saiyan space capsule that he was placed in. Gohan charges Raditz head on, literally. This blow almost breaks his Saiyan armor. But after showing this display, Gohan becomes a little kitten.

Episode 4: Gohan’s Hidden Powers (part 2)
Raditz is weakened by Gohan’s attack. In this state, Goku is able to grab Raditz in a bear hug, paralyzing him. Piccolo then powers up his light beam cannon attack to shoot at Raditz. This beam also kills Goku as well. Before Raditz dies, Piccolo tells him about the dragon balls and Raditz tells him that 2 other stronger Saiyans are approaching Earth and will arrive in a year. Goku travels to King Yema’s check-in station. Kame asks King Yema for permission for Goku to cross Snake Way for special training by King Kai. While this is happening, Piccolo takes Gohan away for training.

Episode 5: Gohan’s Metamorphosis
Piccolo takes Gohan to a far away land for training. Here, Gohan will stay for 6 months to survive on his own. Piccolo watches over him from a distance. But Gohan wakes up in the middle of the night to see a full moon. This allows him to transform into a large monkey creature. In this form, Gohan is considerably stronger, but cannot control his actions. Piccolo destroys the moon, which makes Gohan transform back into his human form. He then gives Gohan Goku-type clothes and a sword.

Episode 6: Gohan Makes a Friend
Gohan befriends an injured dinosaur. He tends to his wounds and feeds him. But while Gohan is out gathering fruits and berries, a viscous tyrannosaurus rex attacks his friend. Using his sword, he tries to attack the dinosaur. This is the first time he tries to hone his fighting skills. When he wakes up, his friend is gone and so is the t-rex. Gohan is hurt emotionally, but he tries not to cry.

Episode 7: Trouble on Arlia
The two Saiyans, Nappa and Vegita approach closer to Earth but decide to make a stopover at Arlia. The two fight and destroy several royal guards. When a larger group arrives, the Saiyans allow themselves to be arrested. Then they are forced to participate in a tournament, which they particularly enjoy. After defeating the previous champion, the king of the planet rewards them. But instead, Vegita and Nappa destroy the entire kingdom.

Episode 8: Home of the Infinite Losers
Goku has fallen off of Snake Way. Two ogres, one red and one blue, challenge Goku. If Goku wins, then he is shown the way back to Snake Way. The blue ogre challenges Goku to a battle of strength. Goku easily wins and goes to the other ogre. The red ogre tests Goku’s speed. This test takes longer than the previous one. Eventually, Goku catches up to the red ogre. After being shown the way out, Goku steals a piece of King Yema’s special fruit and is one his way. The fruit can increase one’s speed and endurance for a long period of time.

Episode 9: Princess Snake’s Hospitality
Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chao-Zhu and Yajirobe are gathered at the top of Korin Tower for training. The training is to prepare them for the up coming battle that lies before them. Back on Snake Way, Goku is sucked into Princess Snake’s castle. Though Goku thanks Princess Snake for all of the food and entertainment, she has been planning to eat him. Goku escapes narrowly as a giant snake chases him.

Episode 10: Escape from Piccolo
Gohan is homesick and decides to return. In a handmade raft, he sails across the ocean and is washed ashore. He is found by a group of orphan children. The leader of the group leads them against the social workers. In the end, the leader allows them to be captured and helps Gohan escape. When Gohan is almost home, Piccolo talks to him. Gohan chooses to go back and train to protect the Earth.
