There have been many romantic moments between Keith and Allura during the first two seasons of the series - so we guess I'm not the only one cheering for this couple! Of course some of the scenes or episode descriptions I've put down have been subject to my interpretation of them (i.e., the product of an overly romantic person who has spent too much time watching and thinking Voltron when she should have been studying), so take them with a grain of salt. But, to the true believers, sit back, read on, and get thrilled by these signs that our favorite couple are going the right direction!

By the way, I wouldn't have been able to compile this list without the invaluable help of the Lion Force chronology from  Shannon Muir's Voltron Page. If you've never been by her page - check it out! The chronology is so comprehensive, you'll never feel you've missed any Voltron episode again. I am writing this "Romantic Moments" page on the assumption that the reader was a faithful follower of the series, so I won't go into the plots in depths - just my favorite scenes. Enjoy!

    Season One
There aren't very many "moments" from the first season of Voltron. However, there are a couple of ticklers you guys might enjoy... These are arranged in chronological order, by the way.

    • I've personally always wondered why Keith turned down the chance to be Allura's partner in the re-enactment of the legend of the Love Bridge. (The part eventually goes to Hunk.) Aside from the fact that he would have looked great in that costume, Allura asked him first... and was apparently her first choice for the role. Hmmmm....
    •  In the episode where Nanny and Coran catches Allura swimming with the boys in her bikini, there's this really cute scene where Keith very ungracefully topples into the lake after he turns around to see Allura preparing for her dive. Talk about "falling" for someone! (This is the same episode where Allura happens to lose her top while she's swimming - but that's another story!)
    • In the episode "A Sleeping Princess," where Allura is put under a spell by Haggar's magic blade that makes everyone believe she is dead, there's a scene where he's overcome with grief after seeing Allura "die." The rest of the team is in tears, too, of course, but for one who's usually so controlled, he's the obviously the one who's most distraught. So what do you think of that, ye of no faith? : )
    • If you watched the episode about Arus hosting the Space Olympics, you would have probably laughed over the scene where Allura bursts into the boys' locker room with some food - only to find Keith still in the shower! I know I did!
    • There's a cute scene between Keith and Allura in the episode where Coran and Nanny discuss plans to for Princess Allura to marry and the Force picks up a distress call from Planet Balto, Pidge's home world. After Coran and the Princess refuse to allow the Force to fly so far and have the boys placed under house arrest, the boys rebel and take off without permission. Keith is the last one to board, and Allura catches him in Castle Control where she pleadingly asks him if he was going, too. (This one is a long shot and rather melodramtic, but I just had to put it in!)
    • The end of the 1st season occurs in a four episode arc, and there are a few revealing moments in this arc that Keith and Allura fans like myself are bound to find interesting! One is where Coran and Keith have a private conversation about what to do about Allura's safety in the ensuing battle. Keith speaks very candidly in this scene about his worries regarding Allura, and Coran picks up on them quite astutely (so that means he isn't totally clueless about what's going on between his princess and the commander). There's another scene where Keith asks Allura if she thinks she can handle the battle - and there's something about the way he touches her there that just gave me good goosebumps all over... (But I'm biased, so you might think differently). He rescues her from Lotor (again) in this episode, taking a nasty slice on the chest, after she runs off into the woods (in her nightgown!) and is almost cornered.

    Season Two

For some reason, I wasn't such a religious follower of this season - so although there are some eps that I remember in detail, there are others I just remember watching and can only recall the general gist of the story. So please excuse the scanty number of entries... : )

    • In the episode where the Voltron Force attends a conference back on Earth and is attacked by the combined forces of Zarkon and his new ally Largo, Allura is taken hostage by Lotor and demands for Keith's surrender. Nothing happens between Keith and Allura in this episode, but I just wanted to include it because I think it shows how deep Lotor and Keith hate each other... and not just because they're enemies in battle. Can you guess why? (NOTE: Is it obvious that I'm really losing it?)
    • There's a scene in the episode where Allura goes to the Valley of Zohar to see if her father has come back to life where Keith keeps her from being crushed by a statue by tackling her and shielding her with his body. : )
    • Keith's birthday (with Arussians Ro and Taren's love story as the main source of conflict) is one of my favorite episodes because it's one where the Keith and Allura romance is really played up. Keith is late for his own party because he's out picking flowers for Allura. Allura, on the other eaten up by jealousy and admits it, at the thought of Keith having a female admirer who has given him a birthday present. Even Keith and Lotor share a scene where they put aside their differences in a way for Allura's sake - and where Keith implicitly admits that he's just as taken by Allura as Lotor is. The scene where Keith hands over the flowers to Allura is cute - but I think it could've been handled better... The lines were rather corny, and only a true fan of the pair would overlook that and still get goosebumps of happiness anyway. (Is it obvious that I fall under that category?)
    • In the episode where Keith and Allura are the only ones left to fight because the other three members of the Force are frozen into statues, there's an absolutely adorable scene where Keith helps Allura up unto a high pedestal to be able to view the parade more clearly - and they end up sharing a little hug that's interrupted by Coran. (There's an MPEG file available at  The Voltron Force Homepage that's about 8 MB in size - the two of them are so cute there!) In the last scene, where Keith finds Allura visiting at her father's tomb, Alfor praises both of them for their part in the battle - and even gives Keith and Allura his implicit approval. (See, even her father approves of him!)

I hope that you enjoyed reading all that! If there are any other Keith and Allura fans out there who can think of other scenes I may have missed, please feel free to  e-mail me so I can add it here. I would love to see this list grow longer - and maybe have a season three (Voltron 3D) section eventually! Don't worry - I promise to credit you for your contribution.
