A Study of Capoeira
This section will deal with the study of capoeira (not capoiera), because I feel it is a style rich in culture, heritage, and rhythm, and besides it can be so much fun.
What is capoeria you say? Well, if you are unfamiliar with the art there are some things you should do before checking out the sites:
- Go out and rent "Only the Strong", one of the only capoeira movies out there, incredible moves.
- Play Tekken 3 with the Eddy character, he's the black guy with the dredlocks and green/yellow outfit. Those moves he's doing are authentic capoeira (well 90% are at least, some are gymanstics). I beat the game the other day using Eddy and only 50 cents (that's no continues). You'll see moves like:
- The Au Bastido
- The Macaco
- The Meia Lua de Compasso
- The Bencao
- And my personal favorite, the Capecada
What the hell are you talking about, you say? Well, follow the list, visit the sites, and you'll discover these wicked moves yourself.
