Welcome to Chiu Man Cheuk's Home on the Web!
Thanks for visiting! You have reached the site dedicated another
great martial arts actor, who has blessed the world by grazing
the face of the earth.
Who is this human being?!? Chiu Man Cheuk!
You are visitor No.
who admires this talented
martial artist.
This guy's martial arts skill is astounding, which I think is comparible
to that of
Jet Li and Donnie Yen.
Chiu has done well in Tsui Hark's TV Series, Wong Fei Hung. The picture shown
here is the cover of one of his episodes, "The Eight Assassins," which doesn't have that great of a plot,
but I think is allowed to boast some really good kung fu fighting
scenes. Actually, Chiu only fights 5 matches, while his four other
disciples take turns dueling with the rest, which actually makes
it emotional because they have a real good chance of getting
clobbered to death. 2 of his disciples take on one staff master
one-by-one. The whole series has very good fights in them, and
of the movies I've seen where he plays a role in them, he shows his
stuff.

Pictured above is Derek Yee, the best of all the assassins.
As for his role in the movies of Wong Fei Hung (The Once Upon
a Time in China Series), because of Jet's departure after his third film
in the series, but his return in the sixth film, Chiu was able to
fill the gap with the 4th and 5th film exceptionally well, even though
there wasn't as much humour as before. And his role as the evil villain,
the governor, in Fong Sai Yuk, was also very good! Chiu has done
five episodes in the Wong Fei Hung TV Series, and 7 films. I plan
to see everything he has done, just like I plan to watch every film
Jet Li has done. But I am assured of great martial arts action
every time I plan to watch his work.
I think that how he got noticed by big time directors like Tsui Hark was
when he went to audition for the evil governor in Jet Li's Fong Sai Yuk. At the time,
he was taking a physical education course at the Beijing University. Then, he had auditioned for a role
in his soon to be, first movie, and he blew away the rest, showing his
dazzling stuff. Then, he would be playing Wong Fei Hung, HK's favourite folk hero who can kick ass.
He felt strange because he was barely 20 and his "disciples" the two movies were much older than he was.
Oh well, he's still a dazzling martial artist who deserves much respect, none which seems
to be found the web right now.
Some facts about him:
He is ten years younger than Jet Li so that makes him born in
1973. A native of Heilungkiang, a district north-east
of Beijing, he is now a big star in Hong Kong.
He began his martial arts training at the age of 5, 3 years younger than Jet Li. The idea
was influenced by his father.
And like Jet Li, prefers to do all his own stunts! (Wow, these guys are similar!)
Chiu keeps himself in tip-top condition by jogging 10km and exercising three hours daily in the gym.
His favourite sports are ice-skating, diving and swimming.
Did you know his ex-girlfriend is Anita Mui?!? OK! But if you ever see him on the streets,
don't ask him about his personal life because it is said he feels uncomfortable talking about it.
All of the work he has done:
