Iwate / Miyagi Trip
| We had the pleasure of heading down south with my office earlier this year. We went down to the Gebi (pronounced 'Gay Bee') river in Iwate, then traveled to a little seaside town in Miyagi prefecture where we took a ferry to a small Island and rode a ski-lift to the top of a mountain. Will the fun ever end?!?! This is Aimee standing in front of the aforementioned seaside town's Jinja (shinto shrine). | ![]() |

This is us (ok it's not but our boat looked exactly the same!) on the 3rd most beautiful river in Japan! We were at the tail end of the leaves turning and it was beautiful. Everytime another boat passed us people would wave at us. It happens with surprising frequency, especially when visiting more rural areas. Japan is still a very homogenous country, and despite the dozens of boats on the river, we were the only foreigners. | |
| Making trouble on the 5th smallest crane on the 3rd most beautiful river in Japan. I got scolded on this trip for feeding the fish my umeboshi (pickled plum) he fell for it the same way I did. Looked nice, but he spit it back out too! | ![]() |

Aside from eating delicious shark fin soup, a visit to Miyagi's shark capital would not be complete without a visit to the ever so inviting shark museum! |
