Donovan is the reincarnation of the Prince of Venus, and transforms into the Charismatic Hero, Prince Donovan. Being Italian means he didn’t conform to the Mormon religion back in his home of Salt Lake City, UT, preferring instead to remain a steadfast Catholic. When he graduated from high school, no one expected him to get into college; after all, his grades were less than stellar. However, UAB wanted him for his football prowess, and that’s what they got. However, they weren’t expecting him to get hurt in the fourth game of the season and spend that and the next season on injured reserve. Since he lost his athletic scholarship, he was forced to concentrate on academics instead, choosing Political Science and Theatre Arts as a major. He was in awe of Damien when he first met him, and they became almost instant friends. Donovan notices a change in Damien and forces him to tell him exactly what’s going on. Damien declines at first, but then informs him of the Silver Millennium, even showing him by shaking his hand. When the NegaVerse comes to attack Donovan, Damien only has to give him a rose in order for him to transform into Prince Donovan.

Donovan’s fatal flaw is his lack of concentration. He sometimes forgets something immediately after he’s told about it, but with a little help from the other Star Guardians, not to mention some help from the newly awakened Mina, his mind begins to strengthen and grow and he begins to think in analytical terms instead of just physical. When he shows how grateful he is to Mina by hugging her, that reactivates his memories and he realizes that she is his true love. He is put to the test against Malachite in the first attack, a test that almost costs him his life due to the aforementioned lack of concentration. However, in the second strike, he comes back more powerful, more energetic, and more skilled than he’s ever been in his life.
