Steve Coffin son to the 1st human Captain Universe was charged with the Enigma force to become the 2nd Earth born CU, enabling him to battle shadow creatures from another dimension.
The Dodgson twins, Ann & Clare were given the power to become Captain Universe, only to discover that the greatest power is the care and love of others. Mushy stuff YUCK
A cat burglar named Monty Walsh gained the power of Captain Universe and lost his life when he used the Enigma force for his own selfish ends.
Bruce Banner was charged with the power of the Enigma Force. With the power of Captain Universe, He fought his alter ego, the Incredible Hulk, to stop a nuclear holocaust.
Ofcourse you already know about Spider-man being Captain Universe. Many others have had the chance to enjoy these powers, though whether or not they ended up like poor Monty is another story. You can also tell that the CU costume itself has had changes over the years too.
