To skip my rant, click here. Does this sound familiar? I recently recieved a heart breaking chain letter containing the following: "LITTLE JESSICA MYDEK IS SEVEN YEARS OLD AND IS SUFFERING FROM AN ACUTE AND VERY RARE CASE OF CEREBRAL CARCINOMA. THIS CONDITION CAUSES SEVERE MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMORS AND IS A TERMINAL ILLNESS. THE DOCTORS HAVE GIVEN HER SIX MONTHS TO LIVE...." and that her dying wish was to spread awareness and help others, and that for every new person who recieved the letter, money would be donated towards cancer awareness and research by a sponsor. Unfortunately, I learned that this was all a HOAX, one that I fell for hook, line, and sinker. There is no Jessica, and the letter was never endorsed by the American Cancer Society or anyone else. I should have looked into this more carefully. I think it's sad that some loser dreamed this up, and it's sick that they're playing on people's sympathies and good intentions like this. All this can hope to accomplish is to make an already paranoid world that much more cynical. If this is their idea of a joke, I'm not laughing. I'm truly happy that there are so many people willing to help those in need, and I hope that this experience won't deter that spirit. For more information and how to really help, please go to The American Cancer Society's homepage. All right, sorry. I'll get off the soap box now. Here's the Suikoden stuff: |
Warning! Tables ahead! |
Welcome to Chockboard's Suikoden Page. This page is devoted to one of the greatest RPG's to ever grace the Sony Playstation -- nay, ANY video game system! For those unfortunate souls who have never experienced this game's majesty, I hope that this page will convince you that you need this game like a....a....well, I can't think of any good similes right now, but let me just say that you NEED THIS GAME. Any self respecting RPG fan would rather walk naked through a pit of starved, rabid weasels than not have this game. Why? This game is outright incredible. It has beautiful graphics, innovative and exciting battles (three kinds, in fact), mind-blowing special effects, and breathtaking music worthy of (maybe even better than) a Final Fantasy game. All this and one of the most compelling and gripping storylines ever! It also has all sorts of little perks, too. You can recruit 107(!) members to aid you in your quest, for a total of 108 characters! Not all of them will be the standard fighters and wizards either. Some will open shops and services in your castle, while others will run games or perform to entertain you and your troops. Anyway, these pages will be here primarily to introduce the hows and whys of this phenomonal game, and maybe a few surprises here and there =). Enjoy! |
