Name: Hibiki Ryouga
Alias: As the little black pig: P-Chan, Charlotte,(to Azusa)
Age: 17 Why is Ryouga older than Ranma even though they're in the same grade? Ryouga spent one year in China (among other places)looking for Ranma, by the time he returned from his journey, he had missed a semester of school.
Distinctive Features: Ryouga has cute little fangs (if fangs can be cute), and he wears a yellow and black headband tied around his head (around his neck as a pig).
Voice Actor: Yamadera Kouichi
Kool Facts: The name Ryouga means "good fangs". Hibiki means sound or noise. Also, let's talk about the spelling of Ryougas' name.Technically it's spelled 'Riyouga'. The Viz traslation uses the 'Ryoga' spelling and some translations throw in a 'u' for good measure.

Don't forget to gaze upon Ryougas' greatness.

Weapons: Ryouga uses two powerful Ki techniques, Bukseitenketz and the Shishi Houkoudan. The Bukseitenketz (breaking point) technique involves finding the exact breaking point of any object. Touching this breaking point will cause the object to shatter into pieces. The training for this technique, was very hard on poor Ryouga, he was hung and bound with ropes, leaving only one finger free that was to defend him against large boulders that were being swung at him. Eventually, he mastered the technique.

The Shishi Houkoudan technique invoulves the use of negative energy to generate a powerful Ki blast. Ryouga also wields a heavy sharp rimmed umbrella, and uses bandanna and belt as effectively as a blade.

Who is Ryouga? The eternally lost boy is my absolute favorite character in Ranma 1/2. Or any othr anime or manga for that matter... He has been Ranma's rival since they both were in middle school and Ranma beat Ryouga to the last piece of bread at lunch. Challenging Ranma to a battle in a vacant lot behind his house that afternoon, Ryouga planned to beat the crap out of Ranma, however, due to his direction dyslexia, Ryouga found himself on a four day journey all over Japan that ended in dissapointment and outrage when he found that Ranma had gone to China with his father on a training expedition.

To avenge the grudge, Ryouga set out for China to find Ranma, eventually finding his way to a mountain range where a girl chasing a panda knocked him into the Heitouenniichaun, where unfourunately, a black pig had drowned 1200 years ago. Genma, in panda form, saves the little pig from drowning but attempts to have it cooked for dinner! Fortunately, for Ryouga the cook dropped the pig into boiling water.

Ryouga blames Ranma for his condition, and rightfully so! Ryougas anger at Ranma increases when he learnes that Ranma is the direct reason for his disposition. Akane adopts the little black pig as her pet and names him P-Chan. Ryouga in the meantime falls deeply in love with her, but vows to keep his alter ego a secret from her, luckily, Ranma swore that he would not reveal Ryouga's condition. Akane is unaware of the fact that her piggy is Ryouga, and often times takes P-Chan to bed with her (this angers Ranma emmensly).

In addition to his complete inability to follow directions, Ryouga is easily fooled by Ranma in his most obviously ridiculous disguises. He is also extremely strong and in his anxiety, can easily crush rocks with his bare hands, chew glass or stones, and has shattered walls with his head alone, which frankly, makes me wonder how Ranma has been able to defeat Ryouga on so many occasions.. heh heh...
