This is actually a small resouce centre for native Japanese living in Sydney. They lend out manga, video as well as CDs. They also have magazines, but you can only read them inside reading area.

The manga sectioms is not very big, with about 70% being shonen instead of Shoujo. The shoujo manga that they do stock tends to be old classic with a few of the newer titles such as Cipher thrown in.

Membership cost $27.50 for a year, but this does not include the rental costs. Everytime you borrow you have to pay a fee, for example it's around $2-50 - $5.50 for renting videos. The price becomes more expensive if the video is new. The borrowing period also depends on how many items you borrow. For example if you borrow more than ten comics, it's 2 nights and 3 days.

If you decide to join you'll need to bring 3 IDs (passport, bank card and another ID) as well as a passport photo. You'll present your membership card whenever you borrow or return an item.

Be warned that because most of the visitors are Japanese, you are in a way expected to speak Japanese. So if that or the price deters you, just grab a friend who can speak to do all the dirty work ;).
