Rubbing the Nanchang
To my Nanchang dawgs....
Just look at that logo. We were team "Bing Bahng", and who knows what the "Bing Gwar" is right? Even though Tae restricted me and Holden from endulging in it too much, I'm sure he loved a Zig Zag just as much as any of us. = )! Not enough to eat 10 of them though, right Holden? I'll never forget that ice cream run. I just wanted to give y'all, my Nanchang peeps, a little shout out. So here I am at 11:50 PM typing away in front of my computer. I know all of you miss Nanchang too. And I know you miss Backstreet, Britney, and Edwin. = )! I know Amy especially loved Edwin very much.
Who would have known that after the 18 hour train ride that we would end up in Paradise... the Bin Jiang Bin Guan? We had a little zoo back there, and the couples who would come take their wedding pictures, what a trip?! The bundles and bundles of lychee we devoured will always bring back pleasant memories. So will Mr. Den, singing "Do a dear." And what about turtles staring back from a plate in front of each member at the table? I bet Denise can't forget that roach crawling on her hand. = )! Perhaps it's the frog legs, or the snake, or the intestinal jonx... whatever it was, we put it in our mouths and chewed, with great satisfaction for the most part. Except for that bitter melon stuff. Be Quick. Be Quick! Time is limited. And when the kids would come back from the W.C., "May I come in?" Remember the failed dance party? Drew's stomp jonk was the bomb. Tae and Holden, Little Fatty breaking the door at Donald's must have been quite a memory huh? Mike, remember how he asked you a day in advance if he could eat your bowl noodles? Dong, bu dong? BU DONG!!! Oh yeah, by the way, Jenny Lau, my bookbag is holding up just fine.. thanks to your stitchwork. I am using the $5 North Face at school now. = )! I know all of you miss having your phone tapped. As for me, I kind of miss having Shaujie's cleaning my room for me. = )! Oh yeah, and for the record, the bronze eagle wins as the most useless gift right? Do y'all remember the sad zoo, where the animals got beat and had to run in circles? What about the roller skating rink with all the Chinese thugs? I remember my kids pulling out lighters while singing, "I want it that way."
More than anything else, I will always remember the kids who accepted in that city. Who can forget a kid like Robert? A kid like Kobe? His girl, Shau Mao? I can distinctly hear kids saying, "Do you want a lover in China?" HAHA! Is it possible for us to forget the love triangle with Jack, Lemon, and Michael? That last train scene remains deeply impressed within my mind. You know Dahntay wrote me a letter, and it says that the kids think Tae is cool now, because he didn't cry at the train station. Gee... sorry Holden, haha. I should talk right?
Let's always remember the seeds that were planted and the lives that were touched.
There are
people, "rubbing the Nanchang."
