Mwaahhahahha! This site is all jpgs, so FAH-KAY your little hearts out!
The People have spoken, and I have listened. Everyone I talked to about YAOI seemed to believe that if I had not seen FAKE I was not a real "fan." Well, now are you happy, you blood-thirsty mongrels?! I've also just seen Gundam Wing *grin* I think I'm ok for a while.
Bishonen: Dee, Ryo, and ... JJ *sweatdrop*
Anime/manga: FAKE
Merits: Ryo is a nifty little coppy-kun, always on the job, toting that little gun, being all concerned. Dee is... well, a sex-crazed maniac, but I mean that in the nicest way. JJ is... well, he's like Dee, with marginally less success. But he's so kawaii!!
Okay... first, I must get something out of the way. FAKE is not pronounced like "fah-kay," as an innocent person (me) might try to say it if they were, say, reading the cover in Suncoast and were used to words in the Japanese language like "Kame," which is not pronounced "Came." Saying "fah-kay" in the middle a Suncoast will make lots, and lots, of people look at you.
Based on this anime, you'd get the impression that the entire NYPD was gay. Not that I have a problem with that, it's just that this means that some people from the anime will not get mentioned. Such as this man.
This is Bryer Rose or something. I Don't Like Him. He's dang annoying, and bothers me. So I'm just going to ignore him.
Well, onto it. I really, really liked FAKE. It was hilarious. My friend Christy and I were falling off the couch laughing half the time we were watching it, the other half I was screaming "CENSOR!" and trying to block out the tongue-pics with Ryo-chan and Dee-bunpkins. Whatever I had expected to get out of FAKE, I had not been hoping for bishonen. The animation just did not seem suited to it-- Dee and Ryo just weren't that attractive to me. But I found them nice enough at the end of the movie, and nifty little mange pics like this help me with my conclusion that they are nice looking.
FAKE left me with a lot of questions that I suppose they figured were not all that important. i.e.: who is that Bikky kid and his friend? Who were the other cops? etc. I'm not complaining; look at what Earthian left out. At least in this one you got some explanation as to why the guy was trying to get his uke into bed. With Earthian you're just left to fill in the manga volume they they did not seem to feel was necessary to include. Not that I'm bitter, or anything. Oh... and if anyone out there sympathizes with my hatred for Messiah, give me an email.
I was also left wondering how things would end up at their wedding. In most anime the one on the top is defined pretty clearly... I'd say by at least a foot's difference in height (Or, in Hiei and Kurama-kun's case, about 3 feet *giggle*) Ryo and Dee were a little too close in height for my tastes.
Oh, yea! I have to say something about JJ-honey! He's-- well, his character isn't that well defined at all. He just whines a lot and chases after Dee a lot. But he's soooo cute he must be declared as My Favorite Yaoi Guy From The Movie of FAKE. Take a look at the pictures of this guy and just tell me I'm wrong.
