He's sexy in black and white, and color, and without aaannny clothes on!

Hello, and welcome to my beautiful little Griffith mini-shrine! It seems that I have fallen into the pit that is shonen anime. What is it with me?! I mean, this show has muchly more sword-swinging and big burly men than bishonen!

Oh well. Onto my little review.

Bishonen: Griffith ^_^

Anime: Berserk

Merits: He's a general-type guy, he's really... um, nice... and he's so slutty! *does little dance* (is that really a merit, I wonder?)

The lowdown: All right, there are two different clubs which meet at the Univercity of Cincinnati, and they are very different in nature. They alternate weeks, and one week is shojo night (with shows like Escaflowne, Fushigi Yuugi, Saber Marionette J...) and the other week is shonen night (berserk, Gundam Wing, Macross 7, Record of lodoss war.)

Well, I'll get rid of any plans to see shojo night. I'll cancel babysitting jobs, stand up my friends, hitch hike. But shonen night just isn't that much of a priority. If I came, it was only to make fun of macross 7, or for Slayers: Next.

Somehow, however, the shonen anime pulled me into its grasp. I now cheer for the random guys as they kill their victims, dance about when the music comes on... I have to say that I now enjoy shonen night almost equally with shojo night. I will not, still, support Fist of the North Star, but that's just FYI.

Onto Berserk: one of the reasons shonen anime doesn't suck. (there's actually a lot which don't, I've found!) It's got a really fun plot, beautiful animation (when it wants to), a couple of strong female roles, and... Griffith.

I'm the only one of the people at shonen anime night who doesn't refer to Griffith-sama as "the pale *deleted word*" This is sort of spoilerish, but from the standpoint that it really won't ruin the series for you if you haven't seen it, here's a little tidbit about our little friend.

He's a prostitute, kids!

*heart eyes* he's so beautiful...

That's right, he sells his body. But he does it for such a noble purpose. He doesn't want others to have to die for his dream... and to continue to win they need money. Money can be gained either through battle, or other methods.

His men (and woman) are too precious to him to overlook these other methods. It would be easy to call him loose or disgusting, but he obviously isn't proud of what he does. If there were another method he would take it, but he sees what he is doing as necessary. For this reason I think he is one of the most noble anime characters you're going to run into.

Is this the only reason? He's pretty, he's nice, he's selfless... oh, there's got to be something else! Some other reason my eyes are making these strange heart shapes!

Seperated at birth?! Some weird psychic connection?!?

OH MY GOSH HE TOTALLY LOOKS LIKE ARISLAN!!

*falls over*

Toji: Do you have this guy's number?

Me: Waaaahhhggg...

Toji: Oh, get up and call him for me.

Have you seen the end of Berserk?
