It's way past a reasonable hour to lay myself to sleep, and I have more than enough homework to do, but I must put my thoughts down before I loose the reaction I have right now.

I just finished Gundam Wing. That's right-- all 49 episodes and the 3 oav's. Let me say one thing- that is the saddest I have ever been at the ending of a series. When the little scrolled "end" came onto the screen, I curled up and made little sobby noises. I wasn't ready for it! I wanted more! Why! Why!!!

WHY!!!???!?!

Okay... it's all right. I'm done. Let me give you a little background.

I bought Gundam Wing because I was expecting yaoi fun. Yea, yea, I knew it was a shonen anime, and, not only that, it was mecca action. But I figured they'd take time out, for me, to pose in provacative ways, or dance about, or play twister. Not to spoil anything for you, but... they don't. It's pretty much straight mecca action, with a clown here or there.

So why do I love it enough to be up at an unseemly hour to devote a little nook in my website to it?

1) the plot. Yea, yea, the plot. The whole thing they talk about when I'm temped to fast-forward and try and get to yaoiness, any sign of yaoiness. It's really... deep. I have trouble understanding it sometimes but it really makes sense when I force myself to think about it. I love the dark side of people shown, and the fact that there really isn't a lot of resolution only adds to the complexity.

2) the pictures. A lot of the inner details are left to non-cannon, and sugguestive pictures are commercially sold, I believe, to foster the belief that the Gundam pilots were more than just... friends. My sister Meze owns a Duo book (yes, there is a Duo book... offical, straight from Japan) and there are scenes with Quatre that would make your eyes just bulge out of their sockets. Well, maybe not quite that risque, but certainly worth oggling.

3) the bishonen. Oooooh, if bishonen were oranges, I could start a farm. That doesn't make any sense, but I hope you get the piture. There's Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatre, Wufei, Zechs, and Treize. Enough bishonen to make you want to write home to momma. And sing and dance. And call them over to play twister waaaaaaaaaaa

Now, go and look at my unnecessarily large Gundam Wing picture. It is truely an argument of yaoiness... despite the fact that it is certainly not rampant during the series ^_^
