Anime/Manga: Kizuna (translates as "bondage >D)

Bishonen: Ranmaru (aka Ran-chan aka "Sam" *gags*), Enjoji (aka Kei aka "AAH HE'S SO HOT!), and Kai (aka Bon aka "that annoying little brat")

Spolier warning! You're warnedWell! It's about time, you say. I've finally gotten around to making a mini-shrine for one of the most famous yaoi couples in anime history. Well, soo-reee, the tapes are hard to find and I wasn't until recently sufficiently motivated to read the online translations (which everyone MUST- by the way, Hidden Pages does a great job at it and the manga is, as usual with yaoi stuffs, MUCH better than the anime.) So- now I've seen it, and what do I think?

WAIWAIWAI!! *dancedance* What a wonderful story! Kizuna wins the prize for best romantic yaoi anime/manga ever! *heavy breathing* *calms down* Now, this series just knocks Earthian and Fah-kay out of the running. I've honestly never seen any anime/manga with this level of love and devotion in a couple- yaoi or no. Let's take a general look at Kizuna ^_^

The Lowdown: Well, as you can tell from the picture at the top, Kizuna is about two handsome tiger trainers who chanced upon each other in their sad circus careers.

Just kidding ^_^ That's just a weird French fanart *crosses eyes*

The real story is a very unique record of the relationship between Samejima Ranmaru and Enjoji Kei

Actually, those aren't very fair represententations of the Kizuna hottehs at all! Let's take a look at them in their Natural State.

I have to admit- I was not a Kizuna fangirl by choice. I had to be smacked several times and glued to a chair to get me to read the translations. It just wasn't very tempting to me to go online and read this manga with few pictures and lots of words *sooo many words... (eyes spin)* But I'm so glad I did! I name Ran-chan the Best Uke Ever- His "Noooo... nooo.." period is SO short (as opposed to Ryo, that annoying tease.) and he even initiates occationally (YOSHI!)

Oh- and, although they are my favorite, Enjoji and Ran-chan aren't the only yaoi couple in the manga. There exists also... Kai and...

MASA!!!!!!

*everyone goes deaf*

Gomen ^_^;; Masa is just one of the most fun words that I know to yell really loud. Let's look at my favorite MASA!!!xKai pictures... because, well, I have them, and I'm sure you're interested.

So kawaii you forget it's vaguely shoto-con-esque (not to mention the whole father-son relationship thing they've got going on... -_-;;)

A reason Kizuna is so unique is Enjoji and Ran-chan's relationship. You can say that Chihaya and Kagetsuya are adorable, and Trowa and Quatre are your favorite couple ever, but you'll never hold them in fair comparison to the Kizuna guys (Boys? men? I don't know how to classify college-aged persons!). For starters, Enjoji is such a not-typical seme. Compared with other popular tops- I'm thinking Kagetsuya, Trowa, Hiei (Gomen to all you people who think Kurama's the one, but I just don't see it!)- he's as extatic and fun as a circus clown on valum, just not as scarey. In this regard he could be compared to Fah-kay's Dee... except that he actually gets his uke.

Which is another unique aspect of Kizuna... >)Well, here's a picture of Enjoji being all kawaii and supportive.

I was really, really, really expecting a Dee-Ryo relationship with these two- easy to imagine from the first two pages. I just can't emphasize how beautifully their relationship grows. Ran-chan gets jealous, the two have fights over Enjoji's haircut... it's a couple. A happy, normal, yaoi couple who deal with everyday issues and get through it together.

I don't know if anyone has bothered to read my definition of an "ideal anime..." but if you have, you'll notice that Kizuna comes dang close to being utterly perfect. If you take any of my advise on what to see at all on this page, don't ignore this. If you read the Kizuna manga, you will love it. Period. Let's look at a couple more pictures I happen to have ^_^

Aah, Kai and Masa... *heart eyes* They're so weirdly fun!!

As anyone who's read the back of the Kizuna volumes knows, the major event that tied Ranmaru (... Sam... ><) together was a terrible accident- a car aimed at Enjoji, the bastard son of a yakuza boss (... cheiftan... ><)instead hit his boyfriend Ranmaru. This is explained in the anime in about 5 seconds but it really is an elemental part to the story- and I don't think anyone can say that it's not adorable when Ranmaru walks all the way to Enjoji in the hospital and ;_; IT'S SO ROMANTIC!!! *crycry*

... my goodness, but I seem to be going on about Kizuna. Just let me say one more thing about Ranmaru. He is one of the best examples of the Uke Hedoi Fashion Law. Just... LOOK at that SHIRT! *is blinded* (although it doesn't make him any less sexy >)...)
