What's New
Anne exploded into the international scene with her "hit" lead role in 1990's Nikita (La Femme Nikita), the French spy thriller with a Pygmalion twist which earned her a Cιsar, France's equivalent of the American Oscar (as well as a similar award in Italy), for Best Actress. What's NewsHer latest film (alas released only in France as yet) is Passage à l'acte, a psychological thriller co-starring Daniel Auteuil (also pictured above) and Patrick Tensit; the screenplay is adapted from Jean-Pierre Gattegno's novel, Neutralitι Malveillante.
Anne was seen recently backstage in Paris at "Master Class: The Singing Lessons of Maria Callas" starring Fanny Ardant as the opera diva, Maria Callas. The play, adapted by Pierre Laville from Terrence McNally's original and directed by Roman Polanski, revolves around Callas's legendary masterclasses at New York's Juilliard School of Music toward the end of her career in the late 1960s. By bringing her considerable experience and talent to a new generation of singers, critic Jean-Claude Brialy notes, "These lessons of song are in truth a lesson about life." Pictured with Anne are Ardant, Charlotte Rampling, and Jane Birkin.
