Re-Rooting Hair
"I find it easiest to take that piece of string and braid it through the tail (I use a thin shoestring), and tie it around the end of the tail. Then thread the string through the inside of pony's body and out the hole, and pull through. Once you get most of the string and tail through, unbraid and, while holding the tail, pull the string BACK through the inside of the pony and on out. This way, their tail hole won't pucker out from pulling the tail through." -Taffy
"Here's what I did: I took a piece of string, made it into a loop, and inserted it into the tail hole of the headless pony (from the outside). I then reached in and made it a little bigger, then put the tail inside the loop. I held on to the tail washer with one hand, then pulled the string loop out of the pony, bringing the tail with it. :) Then I just pulled on the tail until the washer was flush with the pony's rear, and um...put her...um...head...back on." -Amie June Brumble
"Hmmm..I dunno if it would work as I've never seen this hair in person, but
maybe the kind used for extensions on people would work? It comes in odd MLP
like colors and I read somewhere that its really cheap. Sally Beauty Supply
probably has them." -Twilight

"I've never done this before, but from what I've heard and seen it goes like so:Take off the head carefully at the seam using a craft knife. DON'T CUT VERY DEEPLY! Gently pop the head off. Using a needle, thread hair through the holes, knotting at the ends. When all hair is in, use 2 strips of fabric, one on either side of the knots. first glue the row of knots to one strip of fabric, then glue the other strip on the other side. This prevents hair from pulling out. Use strong, waterproof craft glue. Once the glue has dried, gently put the ponies head back on. If you want the head on permanently again, align the head, and using plastic bonding glue (found in model car building aisles) glue the head firmly into place." -Up, Up, and Away
"I find that Fairy Tail birds are an excellent source of replacement hair. Since they were also made by Hasbro, the hair is exactly the same colors and texture; plus it is super long, so can be folded to make a replacement tail." -The Delaneys
"It has been going around the Pony community lately people wondering where to find good custom and replacement hair for their Ponies. Well, yesterday I was in K-Mart and I saw something that would work really great! Halloween wigs!!! They come in serveral differerent colors and one pack was opened and I felt the hair. It feels exactly like MLP hair!! A person could buy a whole wig and just cut off what they need and have plenty for many Pony hair replacements and many customs!" - Desert Wind
"When I rethreaded my Sunspot's hair I used Hologram Thread. It doesn't stick up like tinsel. It's very fine and strong enough to withstand being put into a pony's head. It comes on a spool so it retains some of the curl. It looks quite magical. It's from a company called 'Glissen Gloss' and the product is 'Prism hologram thread'." -BDF
"well.. I had a peachy with a funky haircut in her mane.. she had no symbol
left virtually. and letsee.. I couldn't for the life of me get her head
off. so I bought an exacto knife and sliced right in the crease where the
head and body joined , then I took a steak knife we have with a very blunt
tip (wouldn't want to poke right through the knob thing on the bottom of
the head) and just wedged it in there all the way around. and after a
little wiggling of the knife the head came off and she doesn't look any
worse for wear because of it. :) of course she WAS a hallowe'en pony and
she's not done YET
