"One day I ran out of my pony shampoo and conditioner so I used my Biolage shampoo and conditioner .. my ponies never came out so soft as they did that night... but it cost to much to use on ponies... but I still use it on my so softs =] As for Pantene.. you shouldn't even wash your own hair with that. MY friend and I used to work at a salon and you can tell when someone uses pantene. When you wash there hair with a good shampoo a stench comes up and the hair is stripped of the pantene residue. Pantene just coats your hair with a grease like formula. *yuck* " -Misty
"I usually use shampoo and cream rinse conditioner, which makes their hair smooth, silky, and beautiful!"-Sunsplasher
"Tip Two: The BEST thing i have found for de tangling the hair in the ponies is "aussie slip" this leaves the hair really soft and manageable. Just squirt some in massage it through then start combing the hair out fron the ends to the roots. Sometimes you will really have to work at it. Just hold on at the roots and work it though. Then rinse clean. And style. I have been VERY happy with the results!" -Sail-Away
"I use White Rain shampoo and Nexxus grapefruit conditioner. I think any kind of shampoo will work, and cream rinse conditioner probably is the best bet." -Up, Up, and Away
"The best way to de-film your hair is to rinse it out with a vinegar and water mix. Mix equal amounts into a cup and rinse your hair out and then rinse with water. Won't make you stink! My grandmother has done that since I think she could walk and she has beautiful hair, think it helped her not get gray either. She finally got some gray when she started doing kemo. Well anyway that's it for shampoo and conditioner residue. Makes your hair shiny too." - Aine
"Tip Four: FRIZZ!!! something we all hate to see. first treat with aussie slip in tip two then try a light hair gell and let set. It will hellp but not cure it." -Sail-Away
"For severe frizz, try soaking the hair for two days in fabric softener, then rinse and comb it straight." -The Delaneys
"I want you all to read this. And trust me on it. If you have frizz on your pony. be it mane or tail. I have an excellent solution to reduce the noticeability of the frizz (is noticeability a word??) if not make is not appear at all (actually.. lemon drop is practically as good as new now.. but yeah.. read on.. :) ) find a tooth brush with super hard bristles (dollar stores are good for those :) ) and a nice soft shampoo that's gentle on the pony hair.. (I've been using Timotei Honey and Chammomileon the hair.and it works really well.. she smells yummy now too) lather the hair up real good, and start brushing the toothbrush through the hair like you would a regular hairbrush. Brush it in the direction you want her hair to fall in when it's dried.. and brush the frizz out. (yes I'm serious. I've done it on three ponies already. and I've upped their value back to close to it's usual go rate)"-Baby Flicker Feedback:"I use Aussie Slip conditioner on my ponies.. it works great! And I used the toothbrush technique too..." -Evening Star
"Usually my ponies' beauty routine goes as follows: I wet the hair and use a deep conditioner such as L'Oreal or something and comb it in til it is silky. Then I rinse and comb the hair as it is drying. It helps the ponies who's hair is knotted, but if there is serious frizz damage to the plastic that makes up the hair, it doesn't do much." -Waterlily
"Pantene works well too... but don't spray the leave on conditioner directly onto their hair-- get the hair wet and saturate it with a cream type conditioner (the kind you rinse out), detangle it with that in it and a fine-toothed hard comb, then rinse it out well... get a nice thick boar bristle brush and after you've gotten the hair smooth, spray the brush well with it... THEN brush their hair. I've found it you spray their hair directly with it, it gets gunky and collects dirt. Or, dilute a little bit of the cream kind/washout conditioner in a cup of hot water, and mix well... dip the tip of a fine-toothed comb into the water and comb dry ponies' hair with it to keep their hair soft while on display (sitting out in dry air can dry the hair out) and protect it. I do this with my mint ponies too as a protection measure. Keeps it sooo soft, without the stickiness. Just use moderation :-)" -Nightlight
