Then Cometh The End

The phrase, "Then Cometh The End" is used by the apostle Paul to introduce a series of events which will occur at the end of time (I Cor. 15:24). This study takes a look at some of those things which take place at the coming end.

1. The Opportunity To Be Saved Will End. If you are not saved when the end comes, all opportunity for being saved, from your sins, will end! Now is the only time that we really have, in which, to be saved. Paul told the Corinthians,...now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2). Today is the only day we have, since there is really no tomorrow. When tomorrow gets here, it will be today.

2). Time Will End. Time is for the here and now (I Cor. 1:7-8). Christ's coming will end all time. We, here are time-bound. We live, work and operate by time schedules, but the end will end all such things.

3). This Present World Will End. This world, in which we live, is temporary. It will end. Peter declares, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up" (2 Pet. 3: 10). The ending of this earth and all things therein will be the greatest unreported event of all time!

4). Earth Life Will End. The Bible teaches that all will die (Heb. 9:27; Rom. 5:12). Those living when the Lord comes, will be "...changed ... for this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immorality" (I Cor. 15:51-54). Man's life here on this earth is short at its longest. James called life, "...a vapor, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away" (Jas. 4:14). By the way, how long do you plan to live?

5.) Resurrection Of All The Dead. The resurrection of all the dead will take place at His second coming or the end (Jno. 5:28-29) There will just be one resurrection. The Scriptures record, "...there shall be A resurrection of the dead" (Ac. 24:15).

6).The Final Judgment. The "then" of Matthew 25:31 is a key word to show that the judgment will take place when He comes at the end. All will be rewarded at the end (Matt. 16:27).

7). The Kingdom Delivered Up With Christ's Reign Ending. The kingdom, which is the Lord's Church will be "...delivered up to God" and the reign of Christ will end at His coming (I Cor. 15:23-27). Are you ready for all these things to take place?
