How to Play the Oboe

Place your fingers over the tone holes and blow gently. You must breathe more slowly than normally. Lift your fingers to play different tones. The oboe is hard to play because only a small amount of air is needed to make a sound. The sound will be harsh if you use too much air. The air has to go through a small slot in the reed and then fill the whole instrument. The oboe makes a beautiful, soft sound if played correctly.
