ONE NIGHT IN EDEN THE SHOW
At 19.30 p.m. the show started. A big dramatic red curtain covered the scene and from nowhere some munks arrived from the back of the theatre with smelling lanterns. A sound of a garden by night was played and a mystical light covered
the entire place. The munks went up to the stage and the intro to "In Paradisum" was heard. A part of the red curtain opens and a divan with Sarah lying on it enters the stage. She is dressed in a Madonna-like dress (like the one used in Vogue) ad lying she sings the song while lifting her hands to reach heaven. The tones of "Eden" starts and the munks throw away their coats, beeing halfnaked under...
The dancers (only young men) lifts Sarah up from the Divan and their dance is much like Madonna's "Human Nature" video... Really a hot start...
After Eden Sarah welcomes the audience to a musical yourney in the garden of Eden. She kicks off with "So Many Things". The scene is empty.
Sarah runs from the stage and the curtain is halfclosed.
It opens again and Sarah now stands on a big cliff singing "Who Wants To Live Forever". This live version have some beats, not included on the recording appearing on "Timeless". The background is mountains and a nature covered with snow. Wind is blowing in Sarah's hair.
Sarah now leaves the stage and the curtains are closed. The Orchestra plays "Bailero" instrumental.
Some deep, dark beats are heard, Then strings start to play "Anytime Anywhere"intro. The curtains open and it is now decorated as a typical operastage. Sarah enters in a 18th-century dress (but see through skirt).
She is also covered with flowers.
She sings it wile the dancers play on violins sitting on big chairs. She ends with sitting on a chair, looking like an angle.
She now sings "Lascia Ch'Io Pianga". Not much is happening during this performance. The song speaks for itself.
Her dress is now covered with a lila cape and she starts singing "Nella Fantasia".
One dancer is dancing very slowly to make a "dance-panthomine".
The final song before the pause was "Nessum Dorma". On record I don't like this song too much, but when Sarah, standing on a big flight of stais with a blue cape covering almost all the stairs singing in "the moonlight" (artificial moon, but...) this song turns perfect.

PAUSE

The orchestra plays the Dive-intro and suddenly the curtains open and a blue, halftransparent curtain covers the scene. The dancers standing behind, toiching the curtain makes the scene feel like a deep, blue sea. Sarah enters in a white, long dress in simple cut with wide arms and some golden "ornaments" on it. She starts singing "Captain Nemo" in a very diffrent version than the one appearing on the "Dive" record. This one feels more Eden-like with strings and beats in great combination with an electric guitar solo (maybe played by Franck Peterson?). Sarah sings the song higher and clearer than ever.
"Captain Nemo" melts together with "La Mer" and Sarah is now flying in the air with two dancers. They are now behind the blue transparent curtain and the feeling of the sea is even bigger now.
Suddenly the scene transforms into the top of a ship and Sarah starts to sing "Il Mio Cuore Va".
The scene is quickly transformed again and now there is a red curtain in the background (like on the "Eden"-CD cover. Sarah arrives dressed in a dress similar to the "Eden"-cover dress (but not the same). She starts to sing Only An Ocean Away. This version is a shorter version than the album version and this is the only song where Sarah's voice doesn't sound 100% perfect. Sarah sings the song while the scene is half in shadow.
Sarah now steps foward and sings "First Of May". Snow is falling down and Sarah looks a bit sad. There is a magical calm during this performance.
Sarah now sings "Twisted Every Day" and suddenly a lot of dancers dressed as "The Phantom of the Opera" enter the stage. Sarah is running out. The dancers have a short performance to the Phantom Overture.
Sarah suddenly enters the stage dressed in a VERY beautiful black dress. It was tight and she wore pants and a top under this transparent
black dress with net on the arms. This dress really reveals Sarah's great figure. Sarah has now removed her headmicrophone and is now standing in front of a usual microphone. She starts singing "Little Lottie" and then starts with the famous Phantom song "Wishing You Were Somewow Here Again". Sarah sings it with a partyl pop-like voice, partly operatic voice . The Orchestra behind her has now been decorated with candles.
Sarah now prsents the final song this evening:
-This song was written for me by Andrew Lloyd Webber many years ago.
She starts singing "The Music of the Night". After this she leaves the stage. After a while she returns to the tones of "Time To Say Goodbye". The audience is very enthusiastic.
Sarah starts singing with a strong operavoice, but very fast she turns to a more pop-oriented voice (like on the CD). Sarah looks really happy and once again leaves the stage.
But the audience isn't satisfied and one more time Sarah returns singing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". Sarah sings it with a soft and gentle voice and she acts in that dramatical way that only Sarah can.
Sarah gives a gives a huge smile, gives big kisses to the audience and finally leaves the stage for good... The show is over...

The first thing I noticed when Sarah appeared on stage was that she looks very young. She is now
very thinn and her curly hair (extention hair, but...) makes her look really young. She wasn't that short as I had expected and her face looked very happy. Her voice is if possible even more stunning live than on CD. Sarah is one of those artists who really can sing live. At first I thought she performed playback, but soon I realized that everything was 100% live.
The stage, the clothes and the light-setting was perfect, bringing out the mystical in Sarah's music. I can say that this is by far the best live-show I've ever seen. So much happened on so little time. Sarah is really a great star both vocally and artistically.
