Well, the Clarinet is my favorite woodwind instrument in the orchestra! I started playing the clarinet when I was 13 yr old in my secondary (high) school band...it's been a beautiful experience! It brought me sweet memories going overseas tours with the Asean Youth Symphonic Band Workshop in 1992 & 1994 respectively, Singapore Youth Orchestra in Kumamoto, Japan 1993. I also participated actively in playing chamber music, concert performances & solo recitals in the SYO. My best friends & I had a woodwind quintet, The Appassionato Woodwind Quintet.
I was extremely fortunate to have the best clarinet tutors, Mr Chua Tiong Hong & Mr Vincent Goh (Singapore Symphony Orchestra), both patient, caring, excellent clarinetists & tutor.
My favorite clarinet repertoire includes Brahms Clarinet Sonata No.2, the most beautiful clarinet piece ever written.... Poulenc's Sonata, Copland's Concerto, Weber's Clarinet Concerto No.1, Grand Duo Concertant & Ebony Concerto by Stravinsky.
