---------------

The departure of Steven Devolder (soprano cornet) and Bert Van Thienen (cornet) to Brass Band Willebroek has led to rumors about the further existance of BBMB; however, we would like to emphasize that Brass Band Midden-Brabant still is 'alive and kicking'! After a reshuffle of the chairs within the cornet section and the introduction of new musicians we are keen on participating at the next Belgian Nationals in November!

Franky De Kuyffer is the man who will be in the spotlight at the next Belgian Nationals as our Principal cornet. Franky earns his living as a freelance trumpetplayer and is also first trumpet with the I Fiamminghi Orchestra. For the last 10 years he has played solo cornet with Brass Band Midden-Brabant; one of his most memorable performances with the band was his virtuoso interpretation of the cornet solo in the final movement of Pageantry (Herbert Howells) at the 1997 European Brass Band Championships in London.

On first row, he will be assisted by Danny Aerden, cornet player with the famous Symphonic Wind Band of the Belgian Guides.

Joeri Van Hove is one of Benny Wiame's most promising trumpet students, and will be playing soprano cornet with BBMB at the Nationals.

---------------

After a successfull new years' concert, BBMB will record a second compact disc featuring conductor Benny Wiame as a soloist. Similar to the popular cd 'Rendezvous', the new recording will include a wide variety of styles, both classical and easy-listening.
