Before I went in to nursing, I was a candystriper at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Here I am with Alex and the new bookmobile. You see, I knew that the General Hospital had a bookmobile, so I bugged the volunteer manager until she let me start one at the Jubilee. This picture was taken to go with the article that I wrote for the hospital newsletter. |

I did more than ice-waters and meal assistance as a candystriper. It snowed, I couldn't resist. The volunteer manager was less than thrilled. :-) |

This is me being goofy at a biology study session in first year nursing. I think we did more goofing off than studying, but we always seemed to do well on our tests! :-) |

This is me at the first year nursing Christmas party...passed out after one Jell-o shooter! I have yet to live this one down! |

This is me and my old cat Sassy. Sassy was...interesting...not much of a social cat. She was small but very feisty! She growled like a mountain lion, and she could be very mean. She used to beat up our other cat Jellybean, even though Jellybean was twice her size. Sassy died at the age of four of renal failure. I have another cat Jellybean who is a black puffball. I don't have any pictures of her, because they are all stuck in my photoalbums and scrapbooks. Jellybean is my baby. She's very cuddly and friendly. She sleeps on my pillow and hogs the bed, even though I am allergic to her fur. Jellybean is also known as "the bean", "Booboo", "Boogie" and "Stompy the elephant cat" (because she's a little...ahem...over weight...but don't tell her that- she's very sensitive!). She is like a little dog, because she always follows me around, and comes when she is called. Jellybean is a junk food addict (this could be why she has a weight problem!) and loves potatoe chips, french fries, cheese, and pasta. |

Here are a couple of pictures from my baby cousin's wedding. Sunny is two years younger than me, and was only eighteen when she married last summer. I was her maid of honor. Sunny and I are like sisters. We grew up together, and we are very close. She lived in Calgary right now, so I don't get to see her very often. I've been bugging her to get a computer to we can chat online. |

This is me in my nursing uniform. This was taken last year right after my practicum on GI medicine. |

This is me, giving my mom the "Hurry-it-up-will-you" look. She always takes so long setting up the photo, that my face is all stiff by the time she takes it. This is pretty much how I look today. |
