Born in Radul (Ukraine), from a jewish traditional family, as a little child his family moved to Iekaterinoslav, near Dniepropetrovsk. At the age of 10 he started learning in Iekaterinoslav Yeshiva, and later in the Krementchuk Yeshiva, specializing in Talmud and Halacha. At the same time, he began his musical studies with Rabbi Abraham Ben Israel and with Prof. Tchigrinsky - and took part of a choir in Mariopol with Chazan Melamed and later on in the Iekaterinoslav temple, under the conduction of Chazan Lachman.He studied theory, harmony, counterpoint, piano, general music studies with Prof. Sokolowsky-Tchigrinsky and finished his studies in the Kasierlecher Music School. In 1915 he conducted the Yvzeve temple choir with Chazan Irtchansky, while he conducted an orchestra for the Jewish Theater with the best companies at that time.

During the Russian Revolution he was the Regiment 271 band conductor.In 1924 he moved to Argentina, and in 1925 became the organist and choir conductor for the congregation temple in Buenos Aires with Chazan Menachem Mazar From 1932 until 1958, he conducted the Great Synagogue choir in Buenos Aires, firstwith with Chazan P. Borenstein and then with A. Gutman.Under his directives, his choir acompannied the greatest chazanim as D. Roitman,Kritchmer, Wigoda, Pinchik, Moishe Oisher, David Kusewitzky.He Wrote music for Sigal Editions and for a lot of Chazanim.In the 1940s he was hired to conduct the choir from the "The Muse" cultural club. For forty years, he conducted orchestras for the jewish theater in Argentina. Although having a tendency to write almost only jewish liturgical music, he wrote music for a lot of operetas for the jewish theater, 2 symphonic poems, trios, songs in Spanish, Yidish and Hebrew, harmonizing also works from other compositors.He had 4 children (2 sons and 2 daughters). Both sons continue with the liturgical conduction at the greatest temples in Argentina. His older Grandson is also a choir conductor in the Kehila Temple in Uruguay and his GreatGrandson will certainly follow suit.
