Site where the "Welcome to Twin Peaks" sign was originally placed for the opening credits of the series. Reinig road, Snoqualmie, Washington

*NEW* Paid for our tickets to Eric's TP Fest this upcoming August ('99) I am going to put off updating this page until I return, hopefully with lots of new info and tons of pictures. Look for this page to be twice as big come September! For now, look around, e-mail me with any questions and I'll get back to you within days. Have fun! -- This page was designed to showcase the trip to the Twin Peaks filming sites my girlfriend and I took in August of 1997. Not all of the sites are up yet, but I will get around to it as soon as I have time. The missing ones are Haps Diner, The Roadhouse, The Bookhouse and Ed and Nadine's House. The majority of the locations were shot in Snoqualmie and North Bend in the beautiful state of Washington. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Kiana Lodge and the site where Laura's body was found (on Bainbridge Island) or Laura's house (Everett, Washington) as we didn't have the time. Whether you are planning a pilgrimage, have already done one or are just a Twin Peaks fan, we hope you enjoy the page. Please sign my guestbook and I apologize for the heavy graphics. (It is well worth it though!)

After a long drive down from Vancouver B.C. we finally spotted this sign. From Vancouver, take the 99 south, which turns into the 5 south in Washington. Follow this for roughly an hour then start looking for the 405 east exit. Take this for about 15-20 min. Look for the I-90 exit. Take it and follow it until you see exit 27, which you take. You will have the option of turning right, which will lead you to the Winery (site of Laura and Donna's video) or left, which takes you to North Bend. Turn left and when you see this sign, follow the road as it turns right. If you keep going straight, you will enter North Bend shortly.

Going straight you will eventually enter the town and almost immediately pass the Mar-T cafe, now called "Twede's". Stop here for some coffee and cherry pie (which is actually quite good). The interior of Twede's was only used in the pilot episode, all the other episodes were shot on an L.A. soundstage, although all exterior shots were filmed here.

See the Mar-T here.

Just up the street, past the intersection, is the Alpine Blossom and Gift Shop. It is visible from the Mar-T. Stop here and check out the souvenirs they have to offer. While I was there, they had an assortment of t-shirts ("Bob" - Have you seen this man?, Laura's grad picture, Log Lady, and a plain white shirt with the TP logo on the front)the full set of WorldVision videos plus the pilot episode seperatly, soundtracks on cd and cassette, bumper stickers, mugs, and several books, including Laura's Diary, a poetry book by a local man and a scrapbook of the cast of TP, made by Pat Shook of TP festival fame. The women who were working there seemed somewhat annoyed when asked where in the store the souvenirs where. I guess they've had enough enough of TP fans running around ther town for the last 6 or 7 years...

At the Mar-T Cafe intersection, turn right. Go up the road a bit and you will see the Mt. Si motel on the left. You can't miss it, everything is painted light blue and white. Room number 6 is where Laura and Ronette were waiting for Leland. The room on the left (#7) is where Kiefer Sutherland stays while looking for his kidnapped wife in "The Vanishing".

See Mt. Si Motel here.

Now you've seen everything to see in North Bend with the exception of the stop light. Apparently it is supposed to be at the same intersection as the Mar-T cafe, but it seems to have been changed since the filming. There are several sets of lights at this intersection and it is impossible to know which one it was, therefore we didn't take any pictures.

Now follow the 202 (same road as Apline Blossom and Mar-T) out of North Bend and into Snoqualmie. There is an intersection with lights, turn right at them onto Meadowbrook Road. Almost immediately on the left is Mt. Si High School. I have heard from different sources that this school may or may not have been used during the show and I don't think it was, but here it is in case you want to see it.

See Mt. Si High School here.

Going down the same road (Meadowbrook) you will reach a stop sign intersection. The building that is all boarded up and is on the upper right corner (from where you should now be) is Moe's Service Station where Leland and Laura pull into after being screamed at by the One-Armed Man.

See Moe's Gas Station here.

Almost directly across the road from Moe's is a trailer park. This is the "Fat Trout Trailer Park" as seen in "Fire Walk With Me". You're going to have to do some hunting around for the right trailers and the pole with the number "6" on it. It is private property so we decided not to spend too much time there. I have heard some pretty scary stories about residents here so enter at your own risk! The picture is of Theresa Banks' trailer.

See the Fat Trout Trailer Park here.

Right across the trailer park is a small green bridge. Drive across this and you will spot Ronette's bridge a little farther up on the right. Unfortunatly you can't get up onto the bridge from this side (it no longer goes over the road). We searched for about an hour for a way onto it from the other side, but had no luck.

See Ronette's bridge here.

If you continue down the same road (still Meadowbrook) you will reach a spot where you can either turn right or left. Turn right onto what is Reinig Rd. This is the road where the opening credits were shot (see picture at top of page). It shouldn't be too hard to find, just look for a spot where the road bends left slightly.

Go back to the intersection of Meadowbrook and Reinig and keep going straight through. On the left hand side will be a sign that says something to the effect of "Weyerhauser Mill Office". Take a left at the sign and go down the hill. To the left will be a couple of small buildings and a parking lot. The main building is the Sheriff's Station from Twin Peaks. We went in the main doors (nobody was there) and saw the spot where Lucy's office was. The office was in between the double doors, whereas in the show, there were the double doors then the office. Strange. Right across from Lucy's office is the waiting room behind a glass wall. The picture on the wall should be familiar...

See the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station here.

After you're done at the mill, go back the same way you came back past the bridge, Moe's and the School. At the intersection of Meadowbrook and 202, hang a right. Drive a bit and you'll see a white gazebo on the left. Pull into the parking lot and you will see the giant log used in the opening credits of the pilot. The log has now been moved under more protective confines. This is a pretty cool place to get out and take a picture.

See the giant log here.

Several feet from the giant log is an outdoor train museum. You can park your car and get out and walk around if you want. Now, this was the trickiest part of our trip. My girlfriend really wanted to see Laura's train car (where she was murdered). Prior to our trip, we tried to get the most accurate directions to this site and ended up with 3 or 4 different ones. According to several people, the car was still in the woods where the scene was originally shot. I e-mailed several people as well as posted on the newsgroup alt.tv.twin-peaks asking where the train car is now located. The majority of people who responded said it was moved into the "museum" a few years ago. When we were leaving Snoqualmie, we took this picture of the train car that looked closest to the one in the series. Unfortunately the car has, apparently, been sold to a Japanese fan, and has been moved there. Don't bother looking for it...

See the train museum here.

We got this at the Alpine Blossom for free! (With purchase of Twin Peaks souvenirs) Not much, but kind of neat anyway. It is a promo postcard from Bravo from 1993. On the back it has the address for the Twin Peaks Festival.

Hap's Diner (Fall City Grille), The Roadhouse (Colonial Inn), The Bookhouse and Ed and Nadine's House COMING SOON! For directions, see the map.

Click here to see a home-made map of the area. The most accurate map I have seen, made by my girlfriend and travelling companion, Cindy.
