PART #1
How did you celebrate your Christmas last year(1996)?
It was a quiet occasion. I spend it with my family and my daughter Hannah in Dublin.

Have you always been in Dublin?
Yes. I was born there and have been living there all my life.

If you had the chance to move to another country, what would it be?
It would be New York. I love that city and I would not mind staying there on a long-term basis.

How well do you guys get along?
We fight like (showed his fist in a punching motion and laughed)..no, I was kidding. We have our usual beckering. If I say we get a long very well at the time, I would be lying. We are like family..like brothers and we fight like that too. It has never gotten physical. I love those guys, every single one of them.

Would you agree if i say that your fans are mostly teenaged girls?
Yes, that is true. Teenagers, especially girls, love the group.

How do you guys plan to change that and attract listeners from older age groups?
We are writting more songs about serious issues and developing a more universal kind of sound to suit listeners from all age.

Tell me more about your third album.
Recording will begin in July and the album should be released by the end of the year. We have written 20 songs but have not done any selection yet.

What will the title of the album be?
That has not been decided yet.

How will the album sound?
This album will be a combination of up-tempo music with ballads. To answer your earlier question, we want to try appeal to older listeners from both sexes by giving the album a world music sound. Something not too mushy but more serious and has nice beats.

We spoke to Ronan last year and he said that Boyzone did covers to attract listeners and will one day stop doing that and sing only original compositions, Is that happening in this third album?
Yes, that is exactly what we will be doing. We will not be singing cover versions of any song. All the tracks will be purely from us.

What inspires you when you write song?
When I write, my songs are my soul. It is to get all my emotions out..my own wat of self-expression. Some people paint. I do what I like and that is writting songs.
