One of the drawbacks of fame for Boyzone heartthrob Shane Lynch is the eagerness of the media to invent relationships between him and women!

"It's one of the worst things of being in the public eye,"said Lynch, who is certainly coverboy material with his lean but athletic physique, dark hair, blue eyes and flashing smile.

"The worst thing about being famous is the tendency of papers to link you with different girlfriends. That happens quiet a lot!" he says.

According to him, he had made a lot of friends, just didn't have time for serious relationships as beung in Boyzone took up just too much time.

"I don't have any at all. You might not last very long in this business. It will be great if we stay at the top for 5 or 10 years," says Shane.

"I don't think it's very much to giveaway at all, before we can go back to an ordinary life."

Looking back at his pre Boyzone days, he said he was very involve in sports. In his schooldays, he was champion gymnast, swimmer amd BMX racer.

"I was also nombor 1 in the country in disco dancing!"

But at the same time, he aslo sang in school and church choirs.

"I always had the interest in singing but didn't know it was going to get me into showbiz," he says.

In fact, after leaving school at 15, he decided he wanted to be a car mechanic.

"I was very interested in racing cars, that's why I became a mechanic. I have been racing since I was 15."

But when the Boyzone audition came up, he became part of the band and he has never looked back since.
