Here
we go again....the 3rd Boyzone concert that we’ve had in Kuala
Lumpur. Sure, everyone was feeling excited about it and before it
was
even confirmed whether the boys were coming or not, the tickets
didn’t
really seem to be selling out that well...and due to that, it almost
resulted to us performers having to pay to perform too. Which of
course, wasn’t very fair. But luckily, it didn’t happen. All went
well and if
you were there to witness the show, you can’t deny the fact that
the
show was brilliant. What else can I say?
Being part of the Twilight Charity Nite concert, I had to go to the
Crown Princess at 8:30am in the morning *yawn*. It was our
only
rehearsal we had at the actual venue. We got our backstage passes,
got
introduce to who we need to be familiar with and went on with the
rehearsals. It went brilliant! Rehearsals went up till 2:00pm and
by
2:40pm, it looked like the boys were coming down for a sound check
and
a press conference. All of us performers were suppose to meet
the boys
themselves during that period of time but because of their tour
manager, Mark Plunkett, who was being a real meanie, we couldn’t.
At about
2:45pm, we heard ‘All That I Need’ playing from the main ballroom
and
so all of us ran to the doors to peek in but much to our disappointment,
it was a pre-recording of the boys voices. It was only then when
‘Picture
of You’ was playing that we saw the boys right on stage. They were
doing a sound check and Steve looked really dense!! After
they did their
sound check, they went through a little secret door to the press
conference room, which was the room next to the main ballroom. One
of
my friends, who was the MC of that night (you must have seen her
on stage
with that lovely white dress) was allowed to get into the press
conference since she was hosting the show.
As
for us, we were
‘witnessing’ the press conference through a little gap in the doors!!
My group members left the venue at 3:25pm to get ready as we had
to be
back by 5:30pm. By the time we got back, there were already a lot
of fans
waiting in the lobby and a few right outside the glass door of the
ballroom. I could honestly say that we were like VIPs that night
since
we had excess to almost everywhere as long as we had on our backstage
passes. All of us performers went through a small briefing of the
show
and after that, we were all set.
At about 6:45pm....fans were slowly being
let in. Meanwhile, all
of us performers were being interviewed by the Malaysian Boyzone
Fan Club.
The show was meant to begin at 7:30pm but there was a bit of delay
in
that one because we couldn’t get everyone in on time. By 8:00pm,
everyone was in. All the performers were backstage feeling really
tensed. Most of the acts from that night came from my school (ISKL).
The show kicked off with the tap dancers, Rebecca and Erin, who
were
totally brilliant. There were almost acts from all sorts of songs,
with the
likes from the Spice Girls to Alanis Morrisette. The MCs of
that
night, Donncha (he’s Irish by the way) and Naomi came on stage and
welcomed
everyone to the show and also introduced the organizers of the show
to
everyone. Then there was a dinner break for about an hour
and sadly
enough, one of my group members lost her voice 3 hours before the
show.
Due to that, we had to do a quick decision of who was going to take
her
solos. After dinner (which was at 9:30pm), right after a dance
which was done by one of my friend’s dance group. We were called
‘Attitude’ for that night...and while we were still standing on
stage
waiting for the song to be played..people were shouting ‘All Saints’
at
us! I was like, "Um..ok...". I was a bit worried that when our first
song started (which was by the BSB), we were going to get a bad
response. But much to my surprise, the moment everyone heard the
starting of ‘As Long As You Love Me’, they were all cheering and
shouting!!! I was so shocked and well....I was REALLY relieved.
We did
another song, ‘At The Beginning’ and at the end of that song, some
guy
from the audience came up to give a rose to Erica!!
I
was trying to
control my laughter and then, Jade’s boyfriend came on stage
and...well...if you guys were there, you would have remembered what
happened right??? There were games and a whole lot more of acts
after
that and then it was the big moment. The moment which we have all
been
waiting for after 2-3hours.
The fans were sitting down, waiting patiently
for the lads to come
on stage (which only happened after 20mins). I was really lucky
to get
right in the first row on the floor. Actually.....all the ISKL kids
were on the floor! It was so cool!! And also since the stage wasn’t
far from
where we were sitting. Only about 1 ˝ meters I think.
And there they
were (at about 10:35pm)....all dressed in black and began their
show
with ‘Picture of You’. God....I was screaming so much!!! I’ve never
screamed that much before! Ronan was so nice this time! If you are
wondering why I am saying this, it’s because during the first 2
concerts, I noticed that he wasn’t being very nice. Anyways....Steve
has always been the sweet one and he was still the sweet one at
the show!
Shane looked a bit pissed from what I judge. Wanna know why? Because
he
was asked to take off all his jewelleries and only put on small
ones
and not those too obvious ones. The Malaysian TV made him do that
since
they were going on TV. But still, he looked REALLY fine. Keith was
a bit too
happy it seemed and so was Mikey! Keith was another one who looked
really fine that night. They were all singing their hearts
out.....and
mesmerizing all their fans with their charming looks and angelic
voices. I was a bit worried before the lads came on that we might
get trampled
by the fans who were sitting on chairs at the back of us since
we were on the floor but thank god it didn’t happen.
What
I wasn’t too happy
about was seeing Ronan’s wedding ring...grrrrrr.....oh well, I guess
I’ll have to except it. Steve was so cute!!!! I was waving a few
times
at him and he saw me and waved back and of course.....along with
a
little smile! One of the funny things that happened that night was
when
Erica shouted at Ronan, "Where’s your cowboy hat??!!!!" and he seemed
to have heard it and started looking for who said it and that kinda
caused
a chain reaction ‘coz Shane started looking at Keith and Keith looked
at Shane and they did a small laugh...of course....I don’t think
most of
you might have noticed that. People were throwing teddies on
stage.....and one of them was a blue teddy which in now in the hands
of
Zul (one of the dancers)!!! I managed to shout " Dia is muire
dhuit!"
which means "Greetings" in Irish and when Steve heard me, he looked
down and smiled! Hee...hee...my little plan worked!!! The
screams were
getting louder every minute and I kinda looked over at the guys
from my
school and all of them looked like they were going to die any
minute......I don’t think they were really enjoying the show huh?!
All
the lads were being very friendly (Steve kept on looking down to
where
me and Erica were sitting!!) and if you guys were to remember that
one
moment when Shane started fanning himself with his long coat and
you
could see his tank top inside....I’m just wondering how many of
you
were fainting right there and then..hee...hee...he has such a good
body!
Anyways...Mikey was being really funny that night. Erica and I waved
at
him and he waved back in a way as though he was drunk or something
like
that....wasn’t sure but it was funny. He ‘must have been high’!!
Shane
just seem to give everyone eye contact, not much of smiling there.
I
managed to get eye contact with all the members except Keith, he
was
too busy looking around. Maybe looking out for a fine young lady
in the
audience? You never know! When the lads started singing ‘Baby Can
I
Hold You?’....everyone started singing along and those with their
boyfriends
started leaning on their boys shoulders. Hmmm....romantic
song moment
or what? Then the lads stopped singing and Teri, one of the organizers
came on stage and said a few things. Then the lucky draw began.
The
prize was a copy of Boyzone’s new album. Since I was a performer,
I
didn’t have a ticket so I had to rob it off this guy friend of mine.
Hee...hee....he gave me 2 of the tickets so it’s was pretty cool.
The
first winner was this little boy who was sitting next to Maria (one
of
my group members) and if I knew he was the winner.heh..heh..I would
have
grabbed that ticket and ran on stage. He was so clueless that he
was
the winner!!!!! Someone behind him had to tell him that he was to
go on
stage!!! God....I wouldn’t be sitting there man....I’ll be hopping
on
stage!!! Anyways....the winners were 2 guys and 3 girls.....and
each
girl got a kiss from each of the boys!! NOT FAIR!!!! And each guy
got a
hand shake from each of the boys. One of my ticket numbers was really
close to one of the numbers which was mentioned by Mikey. Darn!!!
Mikey
was acting really funny when he said his number. He went,
"Shhhhhh....and the number is..." I love their accents!!!!
Oh well.....after the lucky
draw.....the lads continued the show with the song that we all love,
‘All That I Need’!!! Everyone was singing along and girls were coming
up to Ronan and giving him letters and I felt kinda bad for the
others.
But towards the end of the song, a girl came forward to give Shane
something...wasn’t sure what it was but it looked like a pendant.
And
also, someone threw a rose on stage, Steve got it, threw it back
into
the audience and guess who got the rose??? That little kid boy again!!!
ARGGGHHH!!!!! What is he doing there???? The lads left the
stage and
although it was a short show done by them, it was still the best
one so
far!!! Erica must have scared Steve like hell as she was staring
at him
the whole time. And he did notice it....just to let you guys know.
Steve did his shoulder thing a lot of times....*sigh*...he's just
so cute!
I guess that’s all I have to say about the show! It was the best
night
ever and it was another chance for me and my group to perform in
public
again. I would definitely not forget this night.....it was a really
memorable one and it was the first time that I got that close to
the
guys. Even though I didn’t get to meet them. It was kinda sad to
see
this night that we have all been waiting for to be over in 6 hours.
Especially for the organizers who took 3 whole months to get this
ready
for us and all of us performers who put so much effort in what we
were
doing. I would wanna thank the organizers of Twilight for that awesome
night and a big thanks to all of you who came and made the show
a great
one! It wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. From what
I
heard, the lads went to Hard Rock Café after the show to
celebrate and the
next morning (7th), Ronan went to play golf (with Barrie Knight
I think) at
KDE, which is this club right next to my school. And followed by
a high
tea at 2pm at the hotel’s coffee house. The lads left the hotel
at 7am
on the 8th (which was what I heard). I would have gone to
the airport
if I could but I had to go to school that day. Had a stupid science
exam! Well, besides all that has happened, there are more to it
really....so if you guys wanna know more, just mail me at
sweet_linnea@hotmail.com and I’ll fill you with all that I
know from
that day! As for now, I’m outta here!!
TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS!!!!! And once again, a big THANK YOU for
being
there!!! SEE YA!!
