Hsiao-wei Cho was born and finished her formal education in Taipei, Taiwan.Graduated from National Institute of the Arts in 1994. Now work in National Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan. She started to study Doublebass at age 9. From elementary to high school, she achieved five years' championships of Taiwan music competition, Doublebass Concerto Competition of Taipei Symphony Orchestra in 1988, String Concerto Competition of National Institute of the Arts in 1990. | ||

In 1997, Hsiao-wei got opportunities
to played Bottesini's Passione Amorosa with Gary and
Harmon in Victoria and Taipei. Thanks for Gary and Harmon
for this wonderful oppoutunity to share the music with
audience. She learn a lots from it. In October 29th, 1997. Hsiao-wei's father had a terrible head injury in a traffic accident. He is getting better but he lost his brain power and intellect now. And due to the better care for her father. He is staying in a hospital which needs 2 hours by train from Taipei. Hsiao-wei's mother led the family though this accident. She is brave and intellegent. |
In Taiwan's Hsiao-wei Cho, Karr declared he had found his bass-playing "Soul mate" and, as they mugged, grinned, smirked and hammed their way through the piece one could readily understand why. Simultaneously, both players performed miracles of digital dexterity, which left players in the audience gasping in between their laughter.
