And so often still I scream
To disconnect the spirit from the mind
Transcend my own existence
Rise above these desires
Yet the screams themselves are human
Be it so that they come from a being
And within the waterfall,
We seek a temporary refuge in the mist
Only temporary - the fury grows around us
And the metamorphosis completes
The furious liquid becomes searing flames
And licks us with golden tendrils
These tendrils of time cutting deep
What was once thought to have healed
A sanguine existence of shame and despair
Rivaled by the purest will for the heart
I stare towards the stars
Seeking the answer that lies within
