Hey there! This is my page o' beaded stuuuuuff. The following is a brief introduction to my beading experience. Scroll down for pictures of projects I've created.
I began beading
after I
visited the Iroquois Museum
in Howes Cave,
NY. After viewing the museum with my
Girl Scout troup at the time, we learned how to make the basic
daisy chain, with huge E-beads
(we also learned how to make corn husk dolls and real bows and arrows -
although we didn't make those and bring them home, don't worry - then again,
we were Girl Scouts, we knew how
to be responsible! ;)). So I found this opportunity to learn a beading
technique absolutely fascinating! I shared it with my friends, including
a wonderful art teacher who lives next door. Yay Amy! She taught
me further beading skills while my mom let me tag along to the craft
store when she went for her arts supplies (she was also an art teacher
at the time and continues to integrate her great projects in her everyday
special education nursery school classroom; she's awesome!), where I bought tons o' beads,
eventually venturing forth into the beautiful, endless world of seed
beads. Amy then introduced me to mail orders, from which you
may buy any form of.... well, anything. So I've been in trouble ever
since.
I've ordered quite a bit from Fire
Mountain Gems, and I've always been happy with what I've found there.
But to continue with my oh-so-special story, I applied to have a booth
at a craft fair, obtained
a NYS tax
ID so I can sell in the future, and I've been rolling in dough since!
;) But seriously, I really enjoy making beaded items (not necessarily
jewelry... you'll see soon, that is, if you want to) for friends and family.
Beading is a great hobby of mine, and if I don't lose my vision soon from
staring at tiny pieces of glass and threading needles whose eyes are....
umm, let's just say small, I'll be doing this for some time. So
if you enjoy it too, or if you are interested in learning more about this
art, or if you want me to make you something ;), let me know, k? :)
