Shoulder Stand
The Iowa State University, College Cossacks, minor sport before World
War II. Male students were required to take two years of ROTC. Field
Artilery and Engineer were the units. At that time the Field Artilery
unit was horse drawn and there were about 100 horses. The second year
ROTC students learned to ride and handle the horse.
The College Cossacks met after classes two nights a week
and developed their routine that they produced for the Military
Circus and Veishea.
