MINUTES OF MEETINGS
Green Mountain Dreamers
January 4, 1999
OLD BUSINESS
The Green Mountain Dreamers met at Trinity College for its monthly meeting. Tom Maffitt called the meeting to order at 6:30.
Member's presents were Randy, Claude and Julie Bertin, Lou, Al, Chris, Tom and John. We also had two potential members visiting, Bob Raiser and Jamey Magowan.
As of 1999 some of our members will be assuming new responsibilities.
Tom will be President, Randy will be Bookkeeper, Julie is Treasurer, Chris is Data Base Manager, Eric will continue to be Broker and Lou will remain as Secretary.
Tom reviewed our valuation statement. Today we have gained approximately 54% increased in our portfolio.
Al made a motion that we should reevaluate Cabletron and Nike. Randy agreed to do Cabletron and Tom will do Nike.
Chris propose that we should look into buying more shares of our top producing companies to maintain more of a balance in our portfolio.
Members quickly updated any activity in our present holdings. Chris reported the ADC is a good internet stock and is gaining about 17% a year.
According to Claude, there is a lot of uncertainty about Boston Scientific mainly due to accounting errors. Claude also reported that MNBA is doing well. Julie read that Nike is cost cutting. Randy said Staples is doing well and is becoming one of our better stocks; Randy also reported on Whole Foods which we all believe it is a good company, we just bought it wrong. Lou said Gillette is gaining and Home Depot had a good quarter.
NEW BUSINESS
These companies were presented to the club by the following people.
Lou--Sigma Aldrich, all the fundamental look very promising, but some questions about if it is a pharmaceutical company.
Al--Abbott Labs, Alpharma, American Home Products, Lilly Eli & CO and The Limited.
Chris-- Abbott Labs and Johnson&Johnson.
Tom--Pfizer
The Bertins--Warner-Lambert
Sigma-Aldrich and Alphama were in the "Buy" range. Members felt we should get more information about these companies as well as Johnson&Johnson and Abbott Labs. No action was taken in purchasing any new companies.
