The Psychology of Entrepreneurship is the applied science of psychology in entrepreneurial field.
In entrepreneurial field means that the subjects discuss the entrepreneurship in broad
sense/context, according to the definition of entrepreneurship as the capability to develop
a new product or sevice, or create an additional value to the old product or service, or
build a new organization. So, basically the Psychology of Entrepreneurship does not discuss just
about the characteristics or behavioral aspects of an entrepreneur (i.e. someone who
own a business). However, the subjects discuss the behavioral characteristics and the
developing process of entrepreneurship behavior in anyone, including intrapreneur or corporatepreneur.
Studying Psychology of Entrepreneurship is useful for someone who wants to be or who is to be:
(1) an entrepreneur,
(2) executive who works with an entrepreneur,
(3) entrepreneurship consultant.
The difference of "Psychology of Entrepreneurship" with the other entrepreneurship perspectives
(such are Management of Entreprise, Managing Business Venture, etc.), are the Psychology of Entrepreneurship
accentuating such topics:
- psychological factors behind the developing of entrepreneurship behavior,
- mental characteristics of entrepreneur,
- the effect of psycho-social background to the development of entrepreneurship,
- how to develop and train entrepreneurship behavior.
