VOL 3                      MAR 1999  Report on Italian Night
19 March 1999

The Dinner was opened with a prayer by the President. Fifty five
persons were in attendance as follows:

Randy Cornell, Ed and Alice Ard, George and Dot Cote, Fred Cressman, Henry Domme, Mike and Toni Eaton, Bev Amponin, Gordon and Eunice Boyd, Tom Barzcz, Charlotte and Dwight Broga, Joe and Claire Chop, Sharon Doggert, Earl and Hazel Edwards, Paul and Gerry Hamaker, Brian Heselton,
Harry and Jane Huggins, Buddy and Betty Huskey, Ed and June Kracker,
Larry and Nellie Leonardson, Don and Nell Luedke, Bud and Barbara
Marchman, Matty and Jo Matteson, Floyd McGowan and guest, Buddy Moore, Bill and Barbara Nagy, Dave and Eva May Pillsbury, Buz and Margie Sawyer, Hobbie and Judy Sterns, Rudy and Sylvia Tarr, Doug and Ann Wagner, Adrian Warner, Peter and Lorraine Yurick.

Distinguished members present were: Matty Matteson and Buddy Huskey.

After dinner, Randy Cornell, the President of our National Organization
presented George Cote with the first 50 year certificate issued by the
CWOA.  There were comments from the background that George's original
enlistment papers were in the Revenue Marine and signed by Alexander
Hamilton. Our congratulations, George, 50 years as a Club Member is a
long, long time. May you have many, many more.

There will be two other 50 year certificates to be presented to Frank
Coffin and Harry Midgette on 24 March at an informao luncheon at
Tandom's Pine Tree Inn, Virginia Beach.

After the awards ceremony, a 50-50 drawing was played and Mike Eaton
took home the money.  Isn't it odd that a donation was received in that amount for the Club. It is hard to beat a class act. The clock raffle was won by Bev Amponin.

It was good to see Blackie Cressman back on his feet and out with the
crowd. He is still taking chemo therapy but looks mighty good. Hard to keep a good man down.
