With fire in my eyes
To persucute the people
Whom I utterly despise
I have waited for so long
To bring these people down
Jesus was an imposter
All he wanted was a crown
And for His blaphemous ways
His punishment was given
He will never live again
Though His people claim He's risen.
"We serve a risen Saviour,"
Those Christians steadily cry
But what they don't know----
"What has happen to my eyes????"
"I can't see anymore,
Except for a blinding light
And someone in the distance
Radiating everlasting life."
"Who art thou, Lord?
Was all I could say
For a fear that I had never known
Had settled in my way."
The response was not weak
Nor feeble like my plea
But when those words came forth
There was only one person it could be.
"I am Jesus, whom thou persecuteth
Was the Voice's booming reply
And for your disobedience
For three days you will be blind."
I started to pray
And ask for mercy and grace
For the man that I had hated
I now saw face to face.
I repented of the shameful ways
I had practiced day after day
I rejoiced that I knew the ONE
Who died for me too, that day
I was saved by his glorious grace
And filled with the Holy Ghost
And now Jesus is the one
Whom I love the most.
And Friend, may I tell you
His love is everlasting
And if you need salvation
All you have to do is ask Him
For if he can save and transform
A sinful wretch like me
Then he can save your soul
And set your spirit free.
So don't hesitate my friend
Let the love of God take hold
Inside your heart like it did that day
When I was on Damascus Road.
