The Story Behind Our Song

Many people may be curious as to why we chose such an "old" or out of date song but the song we chose, "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" by Brian Adams, has a special meaning for the two of us. It started in May of 1992 when we went to our first junior high dance together. At first we were almost afraid to dance, so basically I sat with my friends and ignored Jason. Then, Jason said, "I will be right back" and left. Moments later there was a pause in the music and the DJ's voice was heard coming from the speakers. He said, "We're going to slow it down a little bit. This song goes out to Leslie from Jason" and the first few piano chords began to play. It didn't take long before we were in each others arms whispering the words to each other. Then, when the dance was over, we broke up.

However, the story has a happy ending. A very good friend, who happens to be a good piano player, learned the first few chords of "Everything I Do" and would tease Leslie with the song. Every time she would hear the song, Leslie would think of Jason and vice-versa. And then they gave love another chance but they never forgot that first, very special dance they shared. So when throwing ideas back and forth, they decided to choose "Everything I Do" for their first dance......
