thinking of you...
sweet, kind, like a shower of warm rain in sunshine
last week, a fool-not listening, questioned the volume
but in the following silence...
...heard your gentle voice
as if for the first time

SUMMONS
keep me from going to sleep too soon
or if I go to sleep too soon
come wake me up come any hour
of night come whistling up the road
stomp on the porch bang on the door
make me get out of bed and come
and let you in and light a light
tell me the northern lights are on
and make me look or tell me clouds
are doing something to the moon
they never did before and show me
see that I see talk to me till
I 'm half as wide awake as you
and start to dress wondering why
I ever went to bed at all
tell me the walking in superb
not only tell me but persuade me
you know I'm not too hard persuaded
Robert Francis
AT FIRST SIGHT
"love at first sight" some say , misnaming
discovery of twinned helplessness
against the huge tug of procreation
but friendship at first sight? this also
catches fiercely at the surprised heart
so that the cheek blanches and then blushes
Robert Graves
SLUMBER
against the backdrop of the evening
darkened skies go dim
I dream you are the someone and that I am that "him"
I pretend that locks are falling on my shoulders
slumber lightly as the warmth
of the one I adore now
slumber sweet dream take me far away let it be
that a lady loves so sweetly
and her gentleman is me
in that morning of awakening
my soul shall sing it's song of that romantic
now required now unweakened ever strong
The poem below is dedicated
to "Princess Diana She was not pefect, noone is but at least she made the effort to be a princess! That takes alot of guts in itself."
LADY
Lady held so highly in my dreams
take me away once more
hold my heart in your embrace as tightly as you dare
brings feelings of fulfillment for this hopeless romantic to share
Lady lay your head upon my chest once more
hear that heart beat fast
this time much more strong than in any time long past
this dream now lives a real life as the touches mend me so
I can live it for these moments wondering if I can ever let it go
Lady take my hand
let your sweet lips touch mine as I drink now ever more deeply
from the love so much like wine
for the lady so much wanted so much wanting to be shown
Lady take this dream ~ you are the only one that can
of all the millions of ladies you are that one dream
let the others say their words of whatever comes to mind
for this dream is only our own my love ~ they ar left so far behind
Lady lead this play completely til the end
where two romantic hearts will heal spirits will finally mend
free yourself to see for yourself ~ let the night set you so free
if you can I'll help you to understand why you're the only Lady for us!
