NOTE: There will not be a rehearsal on Sunday, March 31
Welcome!
The Bloomington Feminist Chorus
is an amateur choral group located
in southern Indiana. (See map.) From August
through May we meet weekly to rehearse and sing. While we
do not hold auditions, membership is restricted to women only.
Our vocal range is from Soprano I through a true Alto II.
Most of our material is either by women or about
women, but difficulty and content can vary widely (from
"Aure Volante" to "I Am A Can of Tuna," for example).
This is our new director, Rebecca Keith, who is a graduate of the IU School of Music, a private music teacher, and a staff member at the Indiana University Alumni Association. She lives in Bloomington with her partner, Vicki, and their cat, Randi, and two dogs, Amos and Phoenix.

Rehearsing for a performance at the IU Fine Arts Museum.
We usually hold two major concerts per year: one mid-winter, and the other at the National Women's Music Festival, which was formerly held here in
Bloomington, but was held in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State in 2001, as it has for the past three years. We have also performed at the
SisterSingers meetings in Houston, Texas; and Cincinnati, Ohio. Most recently, we performed at a memorial vigil for victims of domestic violence sponsored by Middle Way House, a local women's shelter and advocacy group for victims of domestic violence. Other performances have included: the Indiana University Art
Museum concert series, the Indiana League of Women Voters Annual Meeting,
local festivals, coffee houses, nursing homes, private celebrations, weddings,
and (once) the Kroger grocery store:
Singing at the grocery store.
