Calcite: A Clear Wonder!

Have you ever been to the rock shows, and saw a sideways, dusty looking, slightly clear stone? If you did, chances are that you were looking at the wonderful stone, Calcite.

A few of the popular names for these stones are Iceland Spar, and back in da' eighties, I came across some dressed up with the name of "Icelandic Zeiades". Iceland, we can ascertain, but what the heck is a ''zeiade''? Ha ha ha!!

Calcite, is often presented in two forms; rhomboid, which is the slanted stone shape I described before, and dogtooth, which actual is a more terminated form, and has small, toothlike projections from its base. The rhomboid form also presents the optical effect of making whatever image is placed under it, appear as if it were two, or double, hence the attribute of calcite ''doubling'' whatever comes its way..... hmmmmmm.....

It presents its wonder in the colors of clear, pink, green, blue, and orange. The governing planets, and energies are different according to the color of the stone; see chart below:

CLEAR CALCITE: ENERGY: Receptive; PLANET: Moon ELEMENT: Water

This stone is used in spiritual rituals, and as a focus [larger pieces] in meditations. They can also be asked to be ''witnesses" by helping a person who cannot express what they saw clarify it, or as a direct, unbiased connection to the psychic who can read the information. This is great in the case of children, the handicapped, or people who are of speculative behavior whose words you cannot trust. It is best that you and the chosen stone communicate via meditation to see if this can be done prior to an attempt.

PINK, BLUE, CALCITE: ENERGY: receptive; PLANET: Venus; ELEMENT: Water

Each of these forms of calcite share the same planets, energies and elements. Each of them are calming. However, the pink reacts more with the emotional center, or heart chakra, and that is where pink calcite's energy will be best used; in cases of emotional upset, and matters of love.

Blue calcite reacts more with the third eye chakra and the crown chakra as pertains to matters of mental unrest or burnout. As both pink and blue are receptive, their energies will act more to ''draw out'' rather than to push something out of you and into the immediate environment, as a projective energy stone does.

In using calcite it will build up negativity and need cleansing quicker than a quartz would, as this stone can actually store it into itself [one of the more empathetic stones] rather than keep it on the surface as a quartz family stone would. Blue calcite is also healing when worn next to the body.

GREEN CALCITE shares the same energy, planet, information as pink and blue calcite, except for the element which is earth. Green calcite is often touted as a good prosperity stone to attract monies and prosperity to the home or business where it is set up.

Well heellllllllooo....if you ever wanted a stone that could offer a GENTLE and thorough pick up, or lend energy to you for ritual purposes, this is the stone! Just pick it up and hold on, your energy is about to increase!
