My name is Marianne Blair and I am a wife , mother, sister, friend, and teacher. My best friend is my sister whose favorite saying is:
Being a parent is like being pecked to death by a duck.
My husband and I have raised a son and a daughter and have survived to tell about it. I have learned many things through the years:
You are never ready to be a parent.
It is the hardest job in the universe.
There is no substitute for parents in a child’s life.
It is not a job you can quit.
I teach children in third grade at the George L. Hess Elementary School (a NJ Star School) in Mays Landing.
Since my children have finished college and have jobs out of our area, I have some extra time to devote to old and new interests. I have always spent a great deal of time using my computer to develop worksheets and lessons for my students, record student grades, and play games. The internet has opened a whole new area for me. I can spend hours browsing sites or researching information for my classroom.
Our first computer was a Texas Instrument which worked from a cassette tape player. We eventually upgraded to a Commodore 64. My kids and I used all the books and magazines around to teach ourselves some basic programming. When my son went to college, he got his first PC --without a hard drive; he upgraded to one of the first laptaps (talk about heavy) and gave me the PC. Up until two years ago, that is what I worked on. Now I have my own system and the internet. My son, a systems analyst and consultant, kept pushing me into developing a Home Page. Well here I am. This is actually my second location. Mrs. B's Home Page is a collection of teaching ideas, links for teachers and kids, and my classroom.

Just remember -- When you're online, the telemarketers can't get through.
