 RAKSHA is assisting an elderly South Asian gentleman with HIV in obtaining food and donations. Many of you heard the call earlier this year for financial assistance so he could receive the medical assistance he so desparately needed. Right now, we would like to request your assistance so he can have some South Asian food items. You may recall that he does not have any family here in the U.S. He does receive food from Project Open hand but they do not provide some of the South Asian staples that we prefer. Next time you are at the South Asian grocery or supermarket, please do keep these items in mind and pick up a little extra to share with our brother. These are the items he has requested: Basmati rice, onions, garlic, sandwich bread, roti, eggs, juice, dal He has also requested stamps and envelopes so that he may correspond with family and friends in South Asia. If you cannot donate this week or month, you can donate another month.
