this life is a true honest friend. I am not, of course
referring to the woman in the beauty shop that does your hair
and listens to you talk about the little everyday things in your
life, or the neighbour that invites you down for coffee once a month.
These are aquaintances and general all around good friends.. No, I am
talking about the people that truly allow you into their life and
their heart. The very special few that would gladly give you the
shirt off their back, the food from their table and the bed
they sleep in and for whom you would do the same (after all)
true friendship IS a two way street!
Most of us, if we stop and think about it, can honestly
say we have found, maybe two or three people that can be
included in this number. How wonderful these true friends are! How much
they enrich our hearts and our lives!
Today, because we have the internet to reach out around the world
and meet so many new people, the vast number of acquaintances has
grown. Because of this the number of friends has also grown.
I have added many, many new friends to my life, each bringing
something special into it. Some staying, some are not. But each one
adding something totally different to it.
I have gathered a few VERY special friends that I know would lay
down their lives for me. They have proven this over and over
again. I would do the same for them also.
Another wonderful thing about the internet is the many beautiful things I
receive in my mail or on ICQ each day. I often get
little poems, quotes etc. and then some that bring tears to my
eyes about friendship and I alway send them on to others.
I have decided that without these wonderful friendships I would not have
the enriched life that I now share with each and everyone of
them. The only thing that I regret, and that is not an
issue, is that they are all so far away from me.
My dream is someday to meet each and everyone of you. I
may have to travel to far distant shores and then it may
never become a reality. As long as I have a dream there is hope.
you have been, accepts who you have become
and loves you unconditionally as you are.
She does not wish you "luck" as you
step out into the unknown... She walks into
the void by your side. She will not
offer distractions nor easy advice in your time
of need...instead she will pray for wisdom,
born of compassion and a willingness to take
your pain upon yourself. Such a friend will
always speak of you when you are not
present, as though you were, and though she
may not always share your sunny days, she
will alway be there to help you through
the stormy ones. She is not skeptical of
your blooming, nor jealous of your shinning apart
from her, for she seeks not to steal
your joy, but to multiply it. It has
been well said that there is no greater
love than this for a true friend does
not take life from you, she gives you
her own. Love my sweet sisters and
special friends.
